Alright you lot, for today I have something a little different.  The thing is, some of us remember fandom before this comm, and some joined just after the finale, and some have only just discovered the show...and just about every time I read the comments on this site I find new and unfamiliar faces (by faces, I of course mean usernames).  So I propose...(drumroll please)...a friending meme!

What got you into BSG/Kara&Lee? My husband and I knew it was something we'd like to watch, but we were watching too many shows when it premiered, so we saved it to eventually watch on DVD if the reviews were good. Watched the whole series in 39 days in January/February of this year. The miniseries got me into Kara/Lee. The neverending handshake of you're-not-deadness. I started 'shipping right then, not knowing if they were canon or a figment of my imagination.
Favorite character(s): Kara is my #1, followed immediately by Lee. I also grew to love Baltar and Tigh immensely.
Favorite episode: I have to pick ONE? I guess UBEX, but I could go KLG part 1.
Favorite scene: I'm going to second Shah of Blah on the "I'm a screw-up" scene.
Other fandoms: Jossverse, Castle, Community, House, Big Bang Theory. I'm only active here and I mainly lurk in Castle on LJ.

I play real guitar, too, but that skill is getting rusty with all the toy guitar work. What got you into BSG/Kara&Lee? I’m old school sci fi: novels, movies, series. Heinlein, Farmer and Silverberg were some of my faves back in the day and my best friend R and I used to watch Dr. Who and Star Trek obsessively in high school. He was the one who incessantly suggested I watch BSG, but I insisted I wanted to wait until the end of the series. When I finally watched it (in a month) I was absolutely in love with it. It was all the things I loved about Sci Fi, and an amazingly epic love story to boot.
Favorite character(s): Kara first and foremost because she is absolutely AMAZING, then Lee (as he pertains to Kara), then Adama (because Kara loves him), then Sam (because Kara marries him)... you get the picture. One of my favourites to write, however, is Leoben... but my Leoben is a hell of a lot nastier than in canon. And THAT is just a fun concept to explore.
Favorite episode: Unfinished Business. I love the back forth and the backstory reveal... *sigh* and angst... I’m a sucker for that.
Favorite scene: “I missed you.” “I missed you too...”
Other fandoms: None. Life is too busy.
What do you post on your journal? Really just my fic or vids, though occasionally I’ll put some RL ramble about what’s going on with me, though I tend to always friends-lock that.
Three random facts about you: #1 I can bend my fingers backward. #2 I am passably fluent in French. #3 People who meet me invariably say “wow, you’re tall”. No, unlike Rachel, I’m not six feet, but apparently I just seem bigger in real life. It’s like I’ve been photocopied at 115%.

I hear ya'! When I registered my daughter for Kindergarten this summer, the registrar honest-to-God said I didn't look old enough to have a child entering school. I nearly said "I could have one in college" but decided instead to graciously accept the compliment. But it's left me wondering how the heck I looked too young to have a 5 year old. My magic Red Sox hat of reverse aging? I mean, even if I looked 15 years younger I'd have been 21. Maybe her glasses weren't any good... :)

What got you into BSG/Kara&Lee? Mainly osmosis - my ex-boyfriend was a HUGE BSG fan already when we met, and he began watching episodes in reruns on the Space channel every night. I got into the series through Kara, who is still my absolute favourite character, and the episode "The Farm". I can't remember how exactly my obsession with K/L started, but I believe it had something to do with my first viewing of "Scar". Suffice it to say, before long, I was hooked. ;)
Favorite character(s): Kara Thrace (favourite EVER BSG character, no contest), Lee Adama, Sam Anders, Karl "Helo" Agathon, Anastasia Dualla
Favorite episode: Act of Contrition/You Can't Go Home Again
Favorite scene: The last about fifteen minutes of "Crossroads, Part II" were amazing for me. I went into the episode completely unspoiled, and literally could not speak from shock for about a half hour afterwards. :D I have a ton of other favourite scenes from other episodes, but that's one of the ones that stands out most in my mind.

What got you into BSG?: ummm, myself. Had heard bits an pieces but wasn't pushed to watch. And really, how can you not love Kara/Lee?!?!

What got you into BSG/Kara&Lee? My hub’s BBF was a big fan of the show and given our geeky streak we ended up getting both the mini and S1. It was love at first sight :D
Favorite character(s): I’d say Kara but I adore Lee, too (and I feel really protective of him since I got into fandom and saw so much Lee!hate). More than anything, though, I’d define myself as a K/L shipper.
Favorite episode: Unfinished Business.
Favorite scene: Mmmh, that’s so tough, I can’t choose. The KLG fight was the scene that turned me into a hardcore shipper and adore the delicious angst that was the UB boxing match, but I guess the extended brig scene remains my favourite pilots-related scene.
Other fandoms: My only real fandom is BSG, but I like FNL, Whedonverse, Harry Potter, Glee, LOTR, X-MEN…

What got you into BSG/Kara&Lee? A few of my friends kept telling me I should watch the show, but I never listened to them. When I finally broke down and watched it, I immediately fell in love. And Kara and Lee had a magnetism that intrigued me from the start.

Favorite character(s): Kara, Baltar, Lee, Caprica Six, Adama

Favorite episode: Unfinished Business, You Can't Go Home Again

Favorite scene: "NO MORE MR. NICE GAIUS!" hahaha!

What do you post on your journal? mostly real-life stuff about my friends, work, activities etc. with some fandom squee and the occasional video/photo/gif spamming.

Three random facts about you:
1. I get obsessed with tv shows verrry easily. And usually, I will watch an entire series marathon-style and talk about it incessantly while I'm watching it. Then, whenever it's over, I'll find something else to amuse me and that one will fade into the background. Bones, BSG, and Veronica Mars have been the only exceptions to this rule. It's a sickness really, and my friends constantly make fun of me for it.
2. I'm always late for everything (seriously, even when I try my hardest, something usually happens to make me late).
3. I really love playing volleyball - it makes me feel powerful and is usually the highlight of my week.

If you could meet any person (dead, alive, real, fictional) who would you choose? I know this is sentimental, but I would have to say my grandmother. She died when I was barely 2 years old, and there are tons of photos of us, but I just feel like I never really got the chance to meet her/get to know her. I love to hear stories about her; she just seemed like a really cool lady and I think we would have a lot in common now that I'm older.

Anything else you'd like to share?
I've only watched the series once (some episodes twice), and I've only just recently finished them all (I think it was late June/early July when I finished) so I don't feel anywhere near as knowledgeable as most of you here. However, I'd still love to participate in the fandom and learn more about the show/characters/fandom as a whole as I go along. Just be patient with me and remember that I'm a newb! :P
Oh, and in case you're wondering, I'm currently obsessed with The West Wing! :)

What got you into BSG/Kara&Lee? I got into the show late-- I had friends who watched it when it first came out, but I didn't actually see an episode until 4.0 had just finished airing. We caught the miniseries and it was love at first sight-- for the show, for Kara and for Lee and for Kara and Lee-- and we marathoned to catch up by the time 4.5 rolled around. As much as I loved those two, though, I hung out in the A/R side of fandom for the first part of my BSG experience-- and really all through 4.5-- because there were already folks on my flist who were in that side of fandom, and that was really the only side of fandom I was familiar with for a long time. But then I found y'all, thanks to taragel and rayruz! :D :D :D
Favorite character(s): Kara, Lee, and Gaius Baltar. (I think it's James Callis and his fabulous facial expressions. They're hilarious.
Favorite episode: The miniseries. Hands down.

Other fandoms:I don't really play around in other fandoms much. I do love me some Stargate Atlantis, and I have about half a dozen unfinished fics for that fandom, but I've only ever posted one. Ditto for: Chuck, Bones, Blake's 7, Corner Gas, the Discworld books, Star Trek, Firefly, BtVS, and last but never least, Star Wars, my fannish love since I was four years old.
What do you post on your journal? the occasional picspam, fic, vids, silly macros, rants and raves related to the life of an over-worked law student, snippets of my hilarious life with leiascully (sometimes with special fangirl guests!), rambling about whatever delicious food we've cooked up lately. This week, there's also an Old Spice Guy meme, because I felt like that was necessary.

What got you into BSG/Kara&Lee? I watch way too many television shows, but BSG was one that I hadn't seen, and so when a friend was begging me to watch it, I was willing to give it a try (it took me less than a month to finish, despite the fact that it was during the school year). My life is totally rooted in fiction, and in most of the things I watch/read/play I find myself falling in love with some guy, and of course in BSG that person is Lee (I even have a list of the things I love about him if anyone cares to see). I'm a ridiculous emotional masochist and the angsty relationship between Kara and Lee has become an addiction.
Favorite character(s): Apollo, Starbuck, Helo, Six

Hmm okay this is really hard because I love so many fictional characters, and I also am super into historical figures... I wanna say Alexander Hamilton because he was brilliant and I imagine him being insanely hot (think Christian Bale hotness level). Another would maybe be Mat Cauthon from Robert Jordan's book series The Wheel of Time (he is and will always be my most loved fictional character).
Anything else you'd like to share? I am the daughter of tookoolaidmom11 above (who forced her to watch BSG). I watch way too many Lee/Kara youtube videos and dressed up as Starbuck for a sorority date function (my date was, of course, Apollo). I've played pretty much every XBox 360 role playing game there is. I drink too much fresca and am known for my love of frozen yogurt (one might even consider me a connoisseur). Hello! I'm sorry I have no fictional alternate life to offer you, but as you mention your plan for Broadway Musical Divahood, I thought I would share a joyful discovery. I was bopping around online earlier today and found out that one of my favorite musical singers (Rex Smith) has a bunch of his recordings available to listen to for free on his official website, and one of them is his rendition of "Where's The Girl," which is totally what I had stuck in my head when I was working on "K/L The Musical." It's right here (http://www.rexsmith.com/media.php), you just have to scroll down beneath the unflattering picture ~ it's listed under the audio section of the page. If you get a chance to take a listen, I bet you would like it! He sounds a lot more like Lee than Terrence Mann does, bless him :)

What got you into BSG/Kara&Lee? I am a big sci-fi nerd so I thought that I should give it a try. First time was a fail. I didn't even make it through the mini, Then, I tried it again a couple months later and I was hooked. Kara/Lee happened after Kara's Leegasm and I was shocked by how much I wished that it was Lee instead of Gaius. I found out I was shipping then without even knowing it..
Favorite character(s): I fell for Kara first. Lee grew on me though and now it's hard to choose between the two of them. I also love Tigh.. he's so funny.
Favorite episode: Miniseries!
