DPP: Friending Meme!

Alright you lot, for today I have something a little different.  The thing is, some of us remember fandom before this comm, and some joined just after the finale, and some have only just discovered the show...and just about every time I read the comments on this site I find new and unfamiliar faces (by faces, I of course mean usernames).  So I propose...(drumroll please)...a friending meme!

Now, I've just taught myself how to do this code box thing so let's hope it works.  Anyway, you can copy and paste the following code into your comments.

One of my strongest memories of my childhood is the night a house down the hill from us caught fire. My Dad was a volunteer and when the call came in, he ran out the door, pulling his shoes on in the middle of the road as he ran (my sisters' bedroom window had a view of the street and the fire). 4 little kids lived in the house, and my Dad and one of the other firefighters that lived nearby beat the firetruck, pulled a ladder out of a neighbor's yard, and started pulling the kids out of their bedroom window (we couldn't see that part of the house).

I never went into a burning building, myself, but I'll always look up to my Dad for not caring about the flames and crawling in that kids' bedroom window.
