Hi Everyone! Thanks for coming out to play this week! It was fun to host the DPP again. :)

For this weekend, I've dug out some old Bingo cards for those of you who'd like to write some pilot drabbles. Enjoy.

I'll post two today and two tomorrow. I'll leave these for the weekend. Happy Writing! <3

To play:
+ Write five 100-word drabbles to achieve a bingo.
+ To use the center square, your drabble must contain a hug or a frak, depending on the card.
+ Submit one bingo (five drabbles) in a single comment.
+ Please title each bingo and give a rating (or title your whole set plus a rating).

It's the weekend, so an easy one to wind up the week! Leave a prompt! Get a fic (hopefully!) :)

If you want more direction, here's a theme: Fall. Fall's my favorite time of year, but sadly they didn't have seasons on Galactica. Write an AU maybe--piles of leaves, hot chocolate, sweaters, football games, trick or treating... Enjoy!

And for inspiration...one of my fave pilots pictures:

We had two lovely drabbles yesterday, so I encourage everyone to take a moment and give a read.

Adventures in Road Tripping by [livejournal.com profile] kl_shipper1 [PG]
Missing by [livejournal.com profile] kdbleu [PG-13]

Today's Challenge: Kittens and Rainbows
Take a serious pilots event/moment/theme and write a relatively lighthearted drabble or ficlet. For example, using the prompt "maelstrom" you could write a ficlet about one of Kara's painting or about an ice cream flavor called Maelstrom. Anything goes! ;)

Leave prompts for difficult or angsty moments in pilots' relationship.

Enjoy and thank you for a great week! <3

Thank you everyone for a great week of conversation and fic. It's been a pleasure to chat with you all. For today and tomorrow, I'd like to invite everyone to write some ficlets or drabbles (100 words) on two themes presented today and tomorrow.

Today's Challenge:
Take a piece dialogue spoken by Kara or Lee and re-purpose it.

Please leave prompts with dialogue bits (does not have to be shippy). The phrases don't have to be exact in your prompt, but get close enough so that writers can know which bits you mean.

Please give all fic a title and a rating. Thanks and Enjoy! :)

Okay y'all, since everyone's still trading at the Black Market (so far we have a fic banner/animated gif and a fanmix that have been created!), here's a couple of weekend writing challenge  (I'll just post some pretty pilots pics Sat and Sun).

Stole this meme from Tumblr! Write a sentence (or paragraph, if you must) for each of these genres and try to tell as complete a tale as you can! Here's an example.

Write ten lines of dialogue between pilots who had drunken sex last night and are not talking about it. Ever.
Two: Write a scene in four sentences in which K/L bond over something that would seem trivial to a passerby.
Three: Write seven sentences from the perspective of a passerby witnessing Day Two's scene.
Four: Write one pilot’s reaction to the other's love confession in one sentence.
Five: Write a scene in six sentences in which one pilot is searching for the other in the last moments of the end of the world.
Six: Write a breakup scene in three sentences without giving the reason for it or using dialogue.
Seven: Write Kara and Lee’s second kiss in two sentences.

Hello Shippers! I've had a great and emotional week exploring our angstiest feelings about pilots. Thank you all so much for the supportive and thoughtful discussions. I've learned a lot and might have even answered some of my own questions. (I am sure more will come later!) :D

Today, I'd like to end on a sweet note. Write a sweet, happy, or sexy drabble that celebrates that best that pilots can be. We love their hugs and unspoken support and I'd love to see some drabbles that express that for you.

Leave prompts in the form of ordinary objects found on Galactica or Pegasus.

[livejournal.com profile] wicked_sassyhas graciously allowed me to co-host with her today and bring you

What awaits you:

Essays.  Haiku.  Malarkey.  The Shipper Nation Make-A-Wish Foundation.

For those of you who have prepared essays beforehand:
First off, gold star for you!!!  Way to prepare ahead.  Now….
     1.     Go forth and post your essay.  (In the comments is great, if it’s too long, just post a comment with a link to your LJ.)
As a reward for your planning-ahead-ness, you get to participate in the Shipper Nation Make-A-Wish Foundation, which means that you make a fannish wish (for fic, for icons or graphics, for vids, for icons, for meta for hijinks and tomfoolery, whatever)—and [livejournal.com profile] wicked_sassyand I will endeavor to make sure that wish is granted. (Which may entail us begging for favors and/or enduring periods of indentured servitude for the cause but do not fear—we shall make it happen!)

For the unprepared:
     1.     Yes, you still get punch and pie (This is a Bee!joint, yo.  Everyone gets punch and pie.)
     2.     Please please please—come and leave us a few words on why you ship pilots like whoa and what makes them near and dear to your heart.
If you do, you get to participate in the Make-A-Wish Program as described above.  Huzzah!!!  :D

For everyone:
Pilots Haiku-Off, right frakking now.
17 syllables.  Knock yourself out.  Bring me your crack, your angst, your banter, your sexin’, your green plastic friendship, your swoon, your UST.  Just bring it.

Your assignment, should you choose to accept it, is to use this week’s topics of discussion as prompts for your weekend writing!

Have fun!

- Fight or Frak

- Starbuck vs Kara Apollo vs Lee

- Believer or not?

- Beginnings vs Endings

- The same

[identity profile] kdbleu.livejournal.com
So one of the things I love most about our fair pilots is their duality, the oppostes and compliments. And I’ve chosen on of these dualities for each day this week. So to start…

Fight or Frak!

Now go be inspired… write, discuss, argue! And have fun!

Remember, all posts are open all week. Please stop by if your muse strikes you - it's never too late!

Previously on DPP:
Monday: Dialogue - The play's the thing. Prompts are open, but no takers
Tuesday: Icons - There are some gorgeous pilots icons there for us all to share in, so please leave some love for the creators, and possibly make some of your own
Wednesday: Inner thoughts - What were they thinking?. Still some prompts open. Feel free to leave more prompts - or fill some. [livejournal.com profile] kdbleu has written a gorgeous ficlet here about Kara after EoJ/Rapture. Please stop by and leave her some love.
Thursday: Propaganda posters. There are some really brilliant ones, so please stop by and share in them. They're virtually guaranteed to make you smile :)

Today is the final writing challenge of the week. What's in the box?. This idea I've stolen from [livejournal.com profile] kag523, who used it in her recent fic Libertas. The comments section of this post is your box - please leave items in it (one item per comment), then write drabble length fics - one item per drabble - based on, and including them.

The only real rules are that the drabbles must include the item, and must include at least one pilot :)

Web based word counter.

Presumably before this episode, someone placed a hose pipe in the BSG writers' box.

It seems to be my week to drive the crazy DPP bus again, and I've decided to make this "Creativity Week". So bring your creativity and shake the weekday blues away. I've got three writing days planned, and two image days so I'm hoping that there will be something that everyone feels they can participate in. If nothing else, then please show your love for the things that are (hopefully!) being created.

Today, The Play's The Thing1. I want you to write me fics that are structured as a screenplay (click on the link if you're not sure what I mean). For this you can do as much or as little as you want to do - just dialogue, or dialogue and directions.

As well as responding to prompts, I'd like you to leave some. In the prompts I'd like you to include characters, a situation and the location. Handy copy paste guide for you below.

And an example:
Characters: Lee, Kara, Zak
Situation: Pyramid Game
Location: A Park

* Your fic has to be in a playscript form
* Your fic has to include pilots, or people talking about pilots
* Leave warnings if it's R or NC-17 rated, or includes difficult themes
* It can be as long or short as you'd like. One tiny scene to a full blown epic :) All are welcome
* Have fun!

For today's drabbles, I wanted to try something amusing. I want you to think of the weirdest prompts you can imagine for Pilots. (Prompts that you can't even imagine fic for!) Leave them, one per comment, and the writers can challenge themselves to use that prompt in a fic. Have fun!

Yesterday, I confined you all into canon and we got some lovely and achy fics. There are still a bunch of great prompts open if you'd like to contribute.

Today, I'd love to see you all write AU and/or crossovers. I know the big crossover ficathon is running, but I hope you've saved some mojo for a teensy weensy drabble.

I'm going to extend the writing for today's prompts to include fic more then 100 words if desired.

AUs: AU setting/prompt: (e.g. Wilderness hiking/rattlesnake)

Crossovers: Character (fandom)), prompt: (e.g. Captain Jack (DW), underwear). Since this is pilots, see if you can get BOTH of them into the mix with the crossover character.

I've left a few prompts below for examples (and for some lovely person to answer with drabbles).

Please leave one prompt per comment to inspire writers. Answer prompts by writing a 100 word drabble that take place in canon (this simply means no desert islands or AU-type fics, etc.). One drabble per prompt please!

Don't forget to rate fics that are R or NC-17 and warn for potentially triggery content.

Great fics often start with great first lines. For today's DPP, write an Opening Line of an imaginary fic. Everyone else, tell us what happens next. You can write fic or simply describe.

I've left a few Opening Lines in the comments to get us started. (For an added challenge, don't read anyone else's "responses" until you've written yours.)

Kara knew Lee would never recognize her with her new disguise in place!

Who doesn't love a good amnesia story? Or how about a "they're secretly married" reveal? This weekend it's time to embrace the tried-and-true tropes of the romance genre. Pick a cliche and make it your own. Here's a brief list to get you started, but feel free to leave prompts in the comments too!

locked in a closet
pretending to be couple
forced roommates
forced/accidental bed sharing
arranged or secret marriage
marriage of convenience
the bet
bachelor auction/calendar
grand gestures/declarations of love
candlelight dinner
skinny dipping
oops I saw you naked
We’re going to die/we nearly died
against the rules
surprise I’m pregnant/secret baby
friends with benefits
we inherited a kid?
stranded/abandoned together
in disguise
secret identity
love letters
sweep her off her feet/carry her to bed
kissing in the rain
on the run together
