Hi, my name is Bee. I've been lovin' on pilots since I discovered them in a crazy frenzy of DVD watching that occurred sometime in late December of 2006. (I can't remember the dates for sure-- after day three, the days all kind of blurred together.)

I lurked for another year and then said hello on the LJ scene in January 2009. And man, it's been one helluva ride.

I marathoned the first three seasons (that was all there was then) in spring...uh, 2007 I believe. Lurked for awhile, reading just about every K/L fic that had ever been written. Started writing bsg fic in December 2007 and created my LJ shortly thereafter.

And then sometime after that, you just take the plunge and speak out in LJ land. There's a diagram of the slow slide into fandom somehwere in all of that-- I'm sure of it. ; )

me me me! I met Jamie Bamber at Dragon*Con 2008, went to a bunch of BSG panels because my friends were into the show. Came home, bought Season 1, mainlined it, been hooked ever since.

Fell for Lee/Kara at the miniseries, and then 33. And haven't stopped.

hell yes! i've been loving pilots since i first saw bsg, which UNFORTUNATELY was only about a year ago. i started watching the week after it ended! but at least that way i was able to power through it without any breaks.

I got to power through half on DVDs and watch the rest in real time. I must say, I really prefer just shotgunning whenever possible. It sucked so bad to have to wait a week between new eps and the hiatuses were just torture.

And also very new. I watched the show between about April and October last year, and have gradually become obsessed. Hmm, I must find out when my one-year BSG anniversary is. :P

This comm has been a brilliant resource for the Kara/Lee fandom (and a way to start getting to know BSG fans a little), so thank you so much to you and everyone else who's done one of these pilots posts! My shippy little heart is very grateful.

I am here! :) I have been completely in love with this couple since I met them in November of 2007. I marathoned the first 3 seasons in less than a month --it was a crazy experience, I was so obsessed that the only thing I could think of was "pilots, pilots, pilots". Then, I lurked for a year and finally got my LJ just before S4.5.

Pilots are love, the most compelling fictional couple I've ever seen. They've become a part of me and I know I will never stop loving them.

(btw Bee, just wanted to ask you something... What about the rewatches? When are they coming back? --I know I don't participate in real time because of the time diff, but they are so much fun, I miss them! --and honestly, I can't wait for a shippy UB rewatch! ;))

Mainlained the show the spring of 2008 - saw the first 3 seasons in 5 straight days, 10 hrs per day of Tivo marathon (hello, sick days!) just in time for Kara to reappear in her viper and say, "Hi Lee!" Totally hooked since "you want to smack you, Lt" in 33. *smooshes pilots together*

Hi! I only joined this LJ a couple of days ago so am completely new to the place :) I bought the DVD box set of BSG at the end of last year and watched it over a few of months (started off watching it with my Dad but ended up getting too eager to watch the next ep and saw the last two seasons in about a week :P). I've been making icons for various icontests for a few months now and finding my way around other LJ sites :) I was hooked on Lee/Kara from the miniseries and never expected the whirlwind it would take me on!

WOOHOO! PILOTS FTW!

I am here and completely loving Pilots, Shippers, LJ, Fic, Icons and SQUEEEEING! I mainlined BSG in September/October of 2009 and have been addicted HARDCORE. I eat, sleep, and dream about pilots. I've met amazing people through the BSG fandom, and even more amazing people through the K/L ship. I re-discovered my long-dormant love of writing and haven't been able to stop since I found LJ in December of '09. My greatest frustration is that I couldn't join the fandom earlier. R/L just didn't permit much TV watching back then. But since I've left my crazy life in Brooklyn behind, I'm more relaxed, less stressed, less busy and have lots and lots of time to channel my angst and love and lust into the pilots. Awesomesauce!

The pilots disease hits hard at first. I'd like to tell you it eases up a little but really... not so much. They kind of get under your skin and stay there. Fantastic and irritating and compelling as hell.

My sister made me watch it when I was literaly stuck on a couch and not able to move due to surgery, so I ended up getting hooked and shotguned everything but 4.5. As a captive audience who was going slowly crazy with inactivity, I took to LJ and threw myself into the conversation. (In a very demure and not opinionated way at all.:))

I watched the first three full seasons on DVD in spring of 2008 just shortly after I started a livejournal. Loved Kara right from the start, took a little longer on Lee, but shipped them always. Dived in to reading fic and watching vids like a madwoman and posted my first fic/started friending people in Summer of 2008 at wisteria_'s BSG porn battle. Became hooked on fandom ever since.

Hi all! Glad to see so many other newbies and late-to-the-party folks are here!

Mr. Monkey and I had saved BSG for a rainy day. We knew it was great; our friends loved it. We waited for all the DVDs, then we started borrowing the seasons from our friends. We watched the whole series in 39 days the beginning of this year, starting on New Year's Eve. He was glad to have finally found a series I'd watch more than one episode a night of (after I made us ration out Buffy and Angel over the years). I was glad to have found a new 'ship to obsess over.

I write fanfic painfully slowly due to RL, but it's good to have something to want to write again after a long hiatus. I was active in the 'shipping scene way back in the day, ~1995-1999, on the AOL bulletin boards for Star Trek: Voyager. I've privately obsessed over other TV couples, but only K/L and J/C on the net. (This feels like an AA meeting! ;) )

I'm a bit surprised how rabid a fangirl I've been lately, commenting from my phone and work on threads here and reading every single fic rec. I asked a friend from another fandom how she found her comms on LJ when I went into end-of-series withdrawl and she sent me here. I don't think I lurked even a week before jumping in with both feet.
