Hi, I'm Bee, and I will be your host for this week.  This place has been rockin' on a daily basis, and I hope to keep the party going.  First up--

SHIPPER ROLL CALL.

Who's here?

Who's still lovin' some pilots?

Stand up and be counted, Shipper Nation.  And don't be shy.  It's amazing how many like-minded peeps there are out there.  Who knows?  You could meet your new BFF or Canadian doppelganger.  Or just some amazingly cool people.

Welcome to the party.  Chat it up, peeps.  : )

Is funny how places affect people differently. I did do some writing when I first moved there and took a class at Gotham, which I loved. I probably could've continued, by like it does, my life filled up with work and grad school and family stuff. My first fanfic was a slash piece back in the early nineties about Mulder/Skinner. Heh. Was kinky even then. ;)

What fandom did you write for back in the 90s?

It was Dawson's Creek. Joey/Pacey before there was a Joey/Pacey on the show. Heh. It was really funny to write a pre-canon ship that became canon. The show actually did the opposite of Jossing me--two of the scenes I imagined actually sorta kinda became plotlines! Hee.

Oo! Define "Jossing", please. It sounds like something I should know!

From tvtropes.com (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Jossed): A fan gets Jossed when the elaborate Epileptic Trees or Fanfic that they've lovingly built upon canonical elements is abruptly disproved by further canon or by the Word Of God. Named after Joss Whedon; Buffy The Vampire Slayer was notorious for this, as fans would come up with detailed and elaborate theories or plots during summer hiatuses, most of which got completely thrown out within three episodes of the new season.

In my house, we use "Jossed" to refer to killing a main character (more specifically, with little lead-in and for apparent shock value). He's done it in every 'verse, but for potentially spoiler-y reason, I will not name them. *huff* And I still will follow him to the end of the earth. Bah.

They do mention that as an alternate meaning later on that page actually! I'd only heard it in fanfic terms though. Heh.

Ha! That's amazing and fun! Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately back then, my pairing never quite came (heh) to fruition. *sigh*
