Yes, it is perfect.

But there other verses that make me think of other moments, as well. For example:

Of course, in their case there was no call, but these lines make me think of the moment Kara kisses Sam in front of Lee, after rescuing him from Caprica. He knew there was a guy, but it still hurt to see it with his own eyes. And their love story was all about bad timing and bad luck.

This makes me think of when Kara left him in NC. She listened to the voices of fear and insecurity and threw off her contentment.

Lee on the Pegasus , trying to make things work with Dee,while she is on NC, married to Sam. It also fits Lee trying to accept she was gone after Maelstrom, or even the poof.

These are two of my favorite pilots songs! I love Terrified for the quiet I love you on New Caprica - so beautiful.

For Gravity, I'm actually thinking the "Hi, Lee" when she comes back to him in her Viper (mostly because of that similar line in the song). That resonates with me, but it could also work for the First Kiss in UBEX before they frak.

So, would you see this at the beginning of the mix? Somewhere around the Collaborators/Torn arc? I think that makes sense because it's not a specific Lee/Kara scene, but a theme about Lee suffering the hurt after Kara's actions? (The whole time shifty business is gonna wreak havoc here).

I'd put it at the beginning because that's where Lee starts the season even if we don't see why until later. It might be good for UBEX the morning after scene too. I think it really bridges from the beginning of S3 to Torn.

Here are a couple suggestions:

I think this one might work for the "biting off more than you can chew" moment in UB, where Lee is planning to walk away but in the end agrees to the fight, knowing deep down that it's going to break the silence the two of them have maintained for so long and that in turn that will break the lives and relationships they've built for themselves since they've been apart:

I think we need a song for Kara as well as one for Lee for the "K got married"/"It was your idea?"/"Good luck, you're going to need it" scenes. I don't know that this one is completely fair to Kara and everything she was running from and her overwhelming fear (for herself to trust, but also b/c she felt the need to protect Lee from her "cancer"). I can accept this song as a huge part of Lee's reaction, but not all of it b/c I think he does realize (and grieves for them both) that Kara's motivation was partly the choice between "hurt him now or hurt him later" b/c she felt the hurt was inevitable. I'll continue to look for something.

This is completely Lee's perspective. And I agree with you that he understands her motives but I feel that he in this moment is so totaly fed up with it b/c he thought they were past all that. I think it's very conflicted for Lee, he both understands her and at the same time he is breaking. To survive that you need anger - "say goodbye with no sympathy"

Oh, I completely agree that he's fed up and felt they were at least starting to get past the trust issues. Good point about understanding Kara while still breaking inside. I'm also proud of Lee for bringing the anger. It's part of why K/L is THE OTP in my world. I appreciate that Lee holds Kara accountable in a way that many do not.

Also, thanks for posting!! It's good to see newer faces. Welcome to the craziest but best ship ever. :)

I had never thought of this song in any pilot-related way before but I just got home, turned on the TV and and saw the last minutes of Notting Hill and it hit me. "She", by Elvis Costello. That is so Lee thinking about Kara. Anytime really, but especially after the poof.

And if there were any doubts about how biased I really am, they are all gone now. I can only think of songs that would somehow reflect the way Lee thought of Kara. LOL.
