Hiya Shipper Nation,
Congratulations on our survival and ability to flourish over the past year!! Thank you all for taking our girl's "fight 'em til we can't" and applying it to keeping the K/L torch burning in the face of adversity (aka RDM/poofing/poor writing/QoD fail ships, etc). It's odd for me b/c usually I'm a perfectionist and I don't really do things I'm not at least reasonably good at doing. It's different when it comes to my Kara love (and my K/L love too) though. I find myself wanting to try new things...picspams, icons, vids...b/c I want to celebrate Kara/Lee so much that the perfectionism takes second priority behind just sharing the love. It's been a lot of fun this week!

They found the spark, the ignition, the raison d'etre for existing. Despite the loss, despite the death and risks and pain, they returned to each other time and time again because their connection reminded them that love and hope and passion were enough. That loyalty, trust, devotion, and friendship were all they needed to wake up every day, push through the pain, force themselves forward, make the hard choices, and wake up again the very next day. Because just existing is not enough. Just walking through life, blindly following orders does not a worthy life make.
Their love was epic, flawed, painful, sweet and whole, encompassing their shared pasts and sometimes separate futures. In the end, they always came together, one always seeking the other until the end of their days.
Don't care about the finale. I saw her poof and don't care. I saw the writers push them apart. Don't care. Saw the fat stupid pigeon, flopping around the room then flying away from Lee. Don't care. Saw RDM minimize their friendship and destroy their essential natures to serve his plot. Don't care.
What matters is the two of them. Right here, right now. Together. Always.

I love them because after everything thing they've been through and what they put each other to, it is ALWAYS, "Whatever it takes", "I believe you", "are we okay", "I don't care" and "no frakking takebacks".
Because when everyone else in the world lost everything in the world, they found everything they were looking for in each other.
Because they always come back to each other no matter what.
Because they'd die for each other without a second thought.
Because they'd rather be miserable so that the other could be happy.
Because they have the ability to make laugh, cry and hit each other within in moments.
Because "a bum knee" is considered a good pick up line.
Because they may be stronger alone but they are unstoppable together.
Because when you look up the world soulmate in the dictionary, you see a picture of Lee and Kara.

They are soulmates. They are meant to be together. They have different personalities that complement each others strengths/weaknesses. When they are apart they always come back to each other. Their love is epic. I have never ever shipped anyone else as strongly as I ship them and I don't think I ever will.

I thought it'd hit me harder than it actually has, but pretty much I'm just so glad we're all still here and that we've made it out of what were a pretty tough days and weeks and months post-finale, even for those who liked it. The show is dead; long live the Kara/Lee ship and shippers!
Even though I've been around this fandom for years now, I've never been able to put into words exactly why I love Kara/Lee as much as I do. Nothing seems to encompass all the million reasons. :) But just for starters, I love that they're equals, that they always love each other even when they don't like each other, that their personalities and skills complement each other brilliantly, and that they're completely and undeniably INEVITABLE.

2. They never let traditional gender roles define how their relationship works.
3. They can say more with a look than most people could say in a thousand conversations.
4. They are near the same height, which makes hugs and kisses adorable and shouting matches all that more intense.
5. They can punch, kick and even shoot each other and still be okay at the end of it all.
6. Lee is the last thing Kara sees before she leaves this life (both times!), and the first thing she sees when she comes back.
