DPP: Favorite Quotes

Hi, shippers. Today's topic is your favorite Kara/Lee quotes--I wanna hear what they are!

Personally, I haaaaate almost all of am not a big fan of Season 4, but I have to admit that my two favorite Lee quotes are from that season. My #1 has to be:

"Listen to me. I don't care...we've all been through some crazy, crazy stuff. I don't care what you think you saw. I watched your viper explode. Don't care. I'm here. You're here. This is all that matters."
(Thanks, EW.com recap! Though you crazy if you think that's Lee Adama being a "pal"--dear lords.) And actually I love the extended version even *more* because of that whole "because I'm Lee and you're Kara and the rest of it isn't worth a damn" bit. GUH.

My favorite Kara quote about K/L is harder to decide and I'm not sure why. Maybe because Kara always did say more with her expressive face and actions than she did with actual words. So weird as this sounds, "I missed you" is probably my favorite. SO MUCH was said in those three words. I do also have two runners-up that I'll share if no one else does, though I'm sure someone will. :)

So what do you think? What are your favorite lines from canon?

One of my favorite lines of Kara's is when she's just returned in her viper (appearing after her death), and Lee tears across the deck to hug her. He whispers something in her ear to which she responds:

"Okay... okay. Me too."

Now I've listened to that particular scene a hundred times and you CANNOT hear what Lee says to Kara, but in my own head, it's him just blurting out that he loves her. And Kara, being Kara, simply acknowledges it, without actually saying the words back. I love it. *sigh* That little scene is just lovely... and whether or not that's the real words that were spoken, that's how the dialogue goes in my head (and my personal canon).

As for my favorite Lee quote, it is probably both the inaudible "I love you" followed closely by the same quote which thrace_adama mentioned:

"Listen to me. I don't care...we've all been through some crazy, crazy stuff. I don't care what you think you saw. I watched your viper explode. Don't care. I'm here. You're here. This is all that matters."

I just wish the writers had given more action and credence to those words... but that's a rant for another time. :>)

See I actually like that "me too" even better because I don't think Lee says anything at all. I think it's just Kara responding to his obvious distress/need and trying to tell him she feels the same way. What makes it even better is that she thinks she's only been gone 6 hours, so his reaction is so completely over the top in reaction to that and she just takes it all in stride. ♥

It is sorta random, but...if he said anything why wouldn't they pump up the volume so we could hear it? (BSG was really not about the subtle at all by the time S4 rolled around.)

Ah yes, I'm sure they would, as I totally agree with you regarding the lack of subtlety by that point in BSG. I do, however, think a lot of impromptu acting went into Katee and Jamie's portrayals of their characters, so I'd guess that Katee is the originator of the phrase... but my head fills in the line that is never spoken by Lee to prompt it. (As I said, except in my head.) I guess I just think that her lines answer something, so my mind wants to fill in the blank. Make sense?

P.S. Have I mentioned that I am very good at rewriting particular scenes to fit my slanted POV of the series? I add in backstories to EVERYTHING I don't like, or want to skew a certain way. LOL. Probably not healthy, I know. But admitting you have a problem is the first step.

Heh, in my personal canon he didn't actually say anything there. I figure her "me too" is in response to the death grip hug he has on her - he doesn't need to say anything cos that says I-love-you-I-thought-you-were-dead-I-was so-lost-without-you-I'm-so-glad-you're-back all by itself.

I actually kinda liked that he didn't say anything there but she "heard it" anyway. :)
