Date: 2010-08-13 08:39 pm (UTC)I don't really like the miniseries one! hee.
And I've seen all the deleted scenes, but I stand firm on my assessment that he has trouble playing mixed emotions. Kara/Katee wasn't emotionally detached at all in that final scene. I saw the pain all over her face. So yeah, I think he could've played a bit more actual distress over her leaving and it would have made a huge difference to how I felt about their ending. I mean we'll never know how they were directed to play it I suppose, but the difference in the level of emotion they both bring to it definitely struck me.
ETA: His drunk scenes are the worst! Hehe.

Date: 2010-08-13 08:50 pm (UTC)I'm not as disappointed in his mixed-emotion acting as you, but I will definitely say that Katee is better at that. She has a tremendously open face, and she is great at conveying emotions without words. Which is lucky, because in their final scene the words they were given didn't help much :)
