DPP: In the beginning...
Apr. 13th, 2010 09:08 amGood morning, Shipper Nation. Welcome to day two of my reign of terror the land of rainbows and kittens. I have one question for you:
How did those crazy kids meet?
Disregard the lame-ass flashbacks in Daybreak for a moment. I know that EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU has their own version in their head of how Kara and Lee met. So guess what, peeps? I want to hear it.
Was it funny? Angsty? Silly? Did sparks fly? Was it the traditional rom-com meetcute or a full-out confrontational exchange? Did the earth move and angles weep? Did they know each other as kids? Meet at the Academy? Attend band camp together?
Whatever it is, I need to know, so spill, m'kay? *g*
NOTE: For purposes of this discussion, I'm asking you to forget about the DB flashbacks and go back and remember what your theory was before we were bombarded with all that. (Not just because of the controversial table scene but because the meeting and subsequent early interactions of K/L deserve their OWN FRAKKING MINISERIES-- NOT FIVE MINUTES IN A HASTILY-WRITTEN FINALE.)

DEEPLY. DISAPPOINTED.

I'm not sure you should be poking that one...it might get a bit out of control.

No way. His lips are way to thin for that emabochure. If it was brass, it would have to be trumpet or french horn.
**locks away inner band geek and goes back to fainting spell**

I just can't see him playing any woodwinds. No flute, no clarinet, and he's just not laid back enough to play sax.
Percussion? Also no. To loud and disruptive.
So I think were back to brass. But if I had to choose between trumpet and french horn, I think we have to take the trumpet out of the running. Too brash, too loud.
That settles it. He played french horn.
Drum major could have been a possibility, but I just can't see him rocking a cape.
My personal prefernce would be strings-- but this is symphonic band were talking about.
THE END *g*
**locks band geek in the tower and promtly throws away the key**

Date: 2010-04-13 06:55 pm (UTC)Perhaps if Kara played trumpet and Lee was doing his french horn thing, they could've had the same rivalry. If Kara was a brass section leader and Lee was drum major, she would have always been on his ass telling him how to do things "better".
I have to ultimately agree with Tara though. I can't see either of them at band camp as much as I can see them at debate camp or wilderness survival camp or maybe even some frakked up Caprican version of a debutante ball where neither really fit in at all and they end up on a balcony launching water balloons at their finely dressed and oh-so-serious acquaintances.

Date: 2010-04-14 01:46 am (UTC)I know you probably won't read this until after we get home, but we got done with rehearsal early today, and I'm frakking bored.
The people here are really great. Last night this tuba player, Galen, I mean, everybody calls him Tyrol, so, Tyrol totally took apart the wireless in the lounge and he rewired it so now we can hear that channel that mom won't ever let us listen to, right? So now none of the guys will leave the lounge. I mean, obviously I did, because I'm not going to write my little brother a letter while. Um. You know what, I'll explain when you're older.
How is sports camp? I hope that you can come to our concert in a few weeks. I think it is going to be awesome. We have solo tryouts tomorrow and I'm nervous. I know I was first chair trumpet at home, but there's a lot of competition here.
The only thing that sucks about this place is the food. We've been playing triad and betting the snacks we brought. I had a really good hand until that french horn player bluffed me out. She doesn't even want to be here. She was supposed to go to sports camp like you, but her parents made her come here instead. She got in trouble like the first day for trying to sneak cigars in with her french horn case!
I mean, I guess she's cute or whatever.
See you later,
Lee

Date: 2010-04-14 03:26 am (UTC)This so deserves the hall monitor Lee icon. ;)
ETA: I demand sequels where Kara changes instruments every week and just continues to annoy the crap out of Lee. (Preferably by playing percussives and poking him with her drumsticks, triangle stick, drum major baton, etc.)

Re: band camp, huh?
Date: 2010-04-14 03:29 am (UTC)Awww band camp Lee is so adorable! The french horn player should suggest Lee that she and him could do all the things they hear on that channel! And Lee would blush ten shades of red and be afraid of getting caught or whatever but Kara would totally convince him. ;p
