We often talk about pilots’ bests – their best quality, their best scene, their best kisses, hugs, looks and so on.

They are far from perfect, though.

So, what about their worst? What would you say was:

- Lee’s worst flaw?

- Kara’s worst flaw?

- the worst  thing Lee ever did (to Kara, to himself and/or to others)?

- the worst thing Kara ever did (to Lee, to herself and/or to other)?

- Lee’s worst line in the show or his most OOC moment?

- Kara’s worst line in the show or her most OOC moment?

- the worst thing that was ever done to them?

- Kara's and Lee's worst look ever?

- their bestest moment, their most redeemable trait  or action, the one thing about them which makes us forget  all the bad stuff, no matter what (because we love them after all and we must never lose sight of that, right) ?

On a side note, if you still haven't sent your love to that writer you love or if you've come up with a great fic rec, please don't hesitate to do so. ;)

I think the moment from Kara that I hate the most is the scene where she introduce Sam to Lee. I don't know if it was the way it was written or the way she played it, but the way Kara just giggles while slamming Lee's relationship with Dee WHILE ON SAM'S LAP makes me hate her just a little bit every time I watch it. It's far less excusable than anything in UB in my mind. No amount of ambrosia makes it okay for her to do that.

As for Lee, I think his most OOC moment is probably saying no to her when she finally shows up asking him if he'll leave Dee. I've ranted about this before, and I recognize that it was the writers misusing him for their own purposes, but I can't in a million years imagine Lee turning her down and meaning it.

See the UB moments I can more understand from her, just knowing her habit of panicking and running. The Sam-intro she may have had a reason for but it was deliberately mean in a way I just don't like. :( Both of them were awful to watch.

Too flipping funny! Lol.

And he was totes going to! She just messed up his VERY slow timeline with her silly Caprican romance with Mr. vanilla guy.

I completely saw it as an act too. The way she looks at him and the way she delivers the lines is like "look, I have a sex toy too. I can have this other relationship that doesn't involve you too. What are you going to do about it?" Especially when she slams Lee's relationship with Dee. They never talk about that, but it's clear that he has his unnameable and unnamed thing with Kara and also the secret thing with Dee all at once, and that on some level that really hurts her because Kara can't ever figure out her own emotions, but it's like there's no longer any space for her to even try. And so she just shoves it in Lee's face that she's got a plaything too. (And Lee's sadsack look just makes me go "yup, two can play this game." But somehow I think the whole point got lost on Lee. Because I think she was trying deliberately to provoke him in that scene. And he just walked away. Which is very very Lee.)

O_o

Uh oh.

**Bee's going down a rabbit hole here**

I'm going to try and defend this one. Even though they beat the crap out of each other in UB, it didn't mean that what Kara did on NuCap was erased. In a way, I see his rejection of her in this scene as the literary bookend to her running off with Sam in the first place. And let's just be clear-- at this point, his trust in her was still shattered. He says as much to her in this scene. And I'm not saying it's right or it's what he should have done, but I don't think it's a dishonest place for the character. No doubt he wants to be with her. No doubt whatsoever. But he's lost his faith. In her, in him, in what they could have been to each other. He wants her but he won't let himself believe in her. And selfishly, I think it was a way to punish her. To withhold what he knew she wanted just because he could (yes, pilots are totally that petty and horrible sometimes).

I'm not saying I like the plotline (B/C OMG IT TOTALLY SUCKED BEYOND BELIEF), but it for those reasons, it never pinged for me as much as I know it did for others. May or may not help, just my thoughts. : )

Fair enough. I definitely don't think they'd fixed all their problems, and there was still a lot to work out, but I hate the impression I got from the deleted version of that scene that he was rejecting her as payback in some way. GAH. I just don't like it when they're mean to each other :(

^^This. I truly see that move as Lee saying "This is how it feels, Kara." Especially since in the bar later they are still giving each other these miserable looks. And Lee's always reads as a combination of "does she see me? Good." and "can I see her? Good." While Kara's--both in that scene and in so many after up until "Maelstrom" always reads as absolutely betrayed and hurting like hell and basically realizing just how much she screwed things up. (What makes me particularly angry, however, is that Lee now has his nice cozy thing with Dee but Kara is 100% alone after that. And that upsets me and I think it contributed to her nutso crazy suicide-by-god.)

again, strange shipper here, but THIS. IDK, this scene never bothered me. I mean i does because it was a need for it and because they end up apart as a result, but Lee's actions don't.

just like you say, he sort of stopped trusting her because she goes from 0 to 100 and back in split seconds on more than one occasions and for once he goes with the safe choice because he would not survive another heartbreak.

and for me the problem here is that she start with an IF. she doesn't say sometihng like - i'm leaving Sam, if you still want to (or what ever) you know where to find me. NO, she is saying that maybe if she decides to leave Sam, and all of that. i'm sorry, I love Kara but chances are that she would have changed her mind and he would have ended up alone. the fact that he did anyway at the end of the series is just ironic, IMO.

The Sam-Lee intro totally makes me cringe every time I watch. So much cringing. Right up there with the kiss in Home (I know I'm a total weirdo for not loving that kiss but everytime I see it I'm hiding my eyes behind my fingers and all like "Lee, honey no-- she doesn't know what the hell to do with that-- USE YOUR GODDAMN WORDS!!" But again, I'm totally weird on that issue.)

But yes. The cringing. Ack.

I know what you mean. I HATED the intro scene with a passion! I know Kara was trying to make a point, both to herself and Lee, but it was all too much for me. I remember wishing Lee would just walk out.

As for that second scene, I was yelling at my TV when Lee turned down Kara. But I also got why he would be too scared to trust her again. I still would have wanted him to recognize the risk and the possible (in his mind probable) pain that would likely follow and STILL go for it. Because he just had to.
