DPP: Third Wheel

Ah! So it's my week here at no_takebacks and I'm still an ickle newbie so I ask for your patience! If any of my topics have been done before, just let me know, I've been through the last few months worth of entries just to be sure but I may have missed something! And so, to get us started this week...

What characters do you think most influence Kara & Lee as a pair/potential couple? Do you think there were folks who wanted them to get together? Characters who unwittingly pushed them closer together? What about terrible influences? How do you think their friends as individuals maybe dealt with the romantic aspect off camera?

Some examples/my thoughts after the cut! (and for your viewing pleasure, really the only 'third wheel' picture that I find at all acceptable mostly because it's just really hard for me to hate Zak at all - what do you think?)


Helo - I'd love to see locker room talk between Helo and Kara. I just feel he'd be of the 'just frak already' school of thought and it would be epic to listen to him make fun of Kara for not having the guts to do anything about it all.

Balter - I think Kara sleeping with Baltar actually had a good influence on the pilots! When Kara... said the wrong name... she spent a bit in the rest of the episode kind of internally dealing with that and Baltar just couldn't keep his mouth shut making for many awkward/tense moments between the pilots!

Dee & Sam - Obviously, terrible influences.

So what do you think? Would Romo have a snarky opinion? Would Adama give his son a heart to heart? Did Zak see any attraction between his girl and his brother? Any and every character friendship/relationship is up for discussion!

i think they recast zak...? or maybe i'm demonstrating that i'm not as well-versed in pilots as i feel after obsessing for 4 months! but that dude totally looks different than the zak from 'act of contrition'/'daybreak'

Yes, they re-cast Zak after the mini when the actor who'd posed for that photograph was not available or not cast or whatnot when they filmed Act of Contrition.

Welcome. Yes, they changed the actor. I think the second one is much better looking, by the way, but that's beside the point. ;)

What bugs me is that the new picture of Kara and Zac is not that different from the original. But Lee IS different. Whereas in the original one he seemed happier and more relaxed (like they had all been friends having a good time), in the second version he looks uncomfortable and rigid - which makes sense if he was secretly pining for his brother's girl. Why did they make that change?

i think i agree...i like that fanon has validated both pictures though.

i'm completely new to the whole lj thing. while i've read fic in other fandom, i only bothered creating an lj account because of pilots! i have to find some hot lee icons. yums, lee.

Just click on the names in my comment and you shall be taken to them. On the header bar you will see "Watch this community" or "Join this community". If you do either and then go to your FRIENDS page, you will see daily lee posts. I assume that you have already joined No_takebacks? If not, do the same.
