Episode 1 - Post Unfinished Business can be found by clicking here
Today we're jumping up one episode to "The Passage"
The entire fleet is cranky and hungry from strict food rationing. Athena has found the algae planet and in order to get there the fleet has to travel through the radiation filled gas cloud. Tensions are high, plans need to be made, and since it's been crisis after crisis with the fleet and fighter squadron the pilots still haven't been able to figure out where they stand. Here's a handy episode rundown courtesy of Battlestar Wiki if you need specifics.
But first to catch you up....
Previously on the NT RPG:
We started the story at the end of UB and Lee and Kara remained laying in the boxing ring after everyone had gone. The knuckledraggers were ordered by Tigh to get the hanger deck back into shape. Helo came along and saved the day by getting the pilots up and off the deck.
Lee went on his own to the head to shower and clear his mind of all that had transpired at the dance. Helo had another plan and dropped Starbuck right back into his lap by delivering her over his shoulder to the head. The crew was sure to start gossiping so Starbuck cleared the room and she and Lee got down to talking about the current state of their relationship. Lee won’t cheat and tells Kara he wants more, Kara admits leaving him in the field and marrying Anders was a mistake and lets it slip that there is more to her abduction on New Caprica. Lee pushes and Kara agrees to talk to him about Leoben and what happened during the occupation
Meanwhile, Roslin sits with Adama in Sickbay while he’s getting patched up from his round with the Chief. Cottle reprimands the old man and orders him off duty for 24 hrs. The President escorts the Admiral back to his quarters and along the way they run into Col. Tigh who lets the cat out of the bag about Starbuck and Apollo’s night on New Caprica. Adama is, of course, dumbfounded. Once in Bill’s quarters Laura tells him that Kara would look to the stars at night and see Pegasus passing and that now she understood that all those months on New Caprica, Kara was missing Lee.
Chief and Cally were trying to sort out the crew chatter about the Dance and find out if the deck gang was doing their jobs or gossiping. Helo and Athena discuss their friends and hope that none of them get hurt in the mess. Sleep eludes Karl and he makes his way to the Gym where Starbuck is already going at the punching bag, the two talk and Kara confides in Helo about her situation with Sam and Lee. He reminds her that she deserves to be happy.
Kat’s avoiding all the drama by heading to the firing range and in walks Sam Anders. Sam knows he’s eventually going to have to face his wife but refuses to be the one to run after her. Kat and Sam both shoot off a few rounds and Kat feels bad for the man as she has witnessed what a Starbuck dressing down does to a nugget, she invites him for a drink.
After his conversation about New Caprica with Kara in the ready room, Lee makes a decision that no matter what happens he’s leaving Dee. He makes his way back to his quarters and begins to pack when Dee walks in. Kara exhausted from the dance and talking, returns to the head to grab a shower before her lunch date with Apollo.

thegreenkitty is going to be offline for awhile so if anyone is interested in picking up Cottle let me know! Until we can get someone to play and move him around any use of Cottle has to be in Sickbay. So if you're character ends up there you can mod him for the purpose of your scene. Baltar also comes into play shortly so anyone interested in playing the crazy mad scientist he's also open for business as well as Head!Six.
The RPG post for "The Passage" will remain active and open until 11:59PM EST Wednesday. On Thursday's RPG post we will jump another episode to the "Eye of Jupiter" which will run through the end of the week. Please let me know if your character will be unable to check in any of those days and if so, we'll try and work something out.

Date: 2010-11-30 12:08 am (UTC)It had also been a week of missing his old friend, who was still holed up in his quarters with a bottle. Bill sighed, thinking of the futility of his earlier conversation. Saul was a tired and bitter man, looking the way he used to when he was holed up, without a job, slowly killing himself while Bill made his way up the chain of command. He took another swallow. He never thought it would come back around again.
It had also been a week since he'd had five frakking minutes to himself; the food crisis had put everything else on hold. They had a plan for an exhausting and deadly mission that his son would lead. But before he sent his Lee into that radiation soup, he needed to be clear on a few things.
With a grimace, Bill clicked open a comm channel. "Lieutenant Gaeta. Page Major Adama to my quarters." He dropped the receiver back on the unit and finished his drink.

She looks quickly into Hot Dog's locker, which he's left open. His patch is also tossed carelessly on the top shelf. Unlike hers, his is clear enough to take off. She tosses her own onto the shelf where she'd found his, then climbs into her rack to pass the time until the next -- last -- run.
Re: PILOTS BUNK ROOM
Date: 2010-12-02 03:25 am (UTC)Kara wasn't sure how she managed to keep her hands to herself on the way back, considering she would have been completely okay with taking Lee right there in the bar. Pausing outside of the hatch to the pilot's bunk room, Kara hastily kicked off her boots, leaving them in sloppy pile before dragging Lee over the threshold. Determining that the bunkroom was indeed on empty, she slammed the hatch shut, and slammed Lee up against it. "Alone at last," she murmured as her mouth sealed hard over his once again.

Lee awoke with a start, a sharp pain in his gut. He blinked the last vestiges of sleep from his eyes, and realized the pain had come from the pointy elbow lodged in his stomach. Kara's elbow.
Kara was sprawled halfway across his body, her legs tangled with his and her breath a warm breeze against the crook of his neck. Last night returned to him in a rush, then another night's memories flooded his brain too, and Lee gasped, unable to breath suddenly.
She'd stayed.
His chest ached as he sucked in a long shuddering breath and wrapped his arms tightly around Kara. Just in case. Lee could hear the familiar and unmistakable sounds of a shift change, from the other side of the thin curtain enclosing Kara's rack. Lockers clanging, low laughter ringing off the bunkheads. Lee found himself fervently wishing, not for the first time, that he could just freeze a moment, make everything stop.
But time--and cylons--waited for no mortal man. So he tilted his head and brushed his mouth softly over Kara's. "Morning."

She fights to stay upright, lightheaded as she is from lack of food.

Date: 2010-11-29 03:14 pm (UTC)It was hard to bitterly latch onto the sense of betrayal over what he knew was coming when everything was in perspective. He'd been far from perfect for Kara, didn't know down from up when he was with her cause he'd never loved anybody so relentlessly, but when his thoughts were more clear like this, it just seemed wrong for either of them to be wasting their time in this sad imitation of a marriage. Kara had been losing people her entire life, not just during the war, and if there was a place in her he just couldn't fill like Lee Adama could, there was no use trying to hold on.

Date: 2010-12-01 02:48 am (UTC)And why was everyone warning her about Starbuck finding out that she was flirting with the CAG? First of all, she wasn't flirting. Well, not technically. She was just trying to get herself out of a jam. A jam that Showboat had gotten her into. And second, the man was hot. Everyone flirted with him! Why should she be the exception to THAT rule too?
She'd seen Starbuck strut around the Galactica like she owned the place but so did a lot of other pilots. What made her so special and why did Sandstorm need to be afraid of her? Sure, she'd heard tales of Starbuck's legendary right hook and yes, she had seen her & Apollo beat the crap out of each other at the dance, but still. Who the hell did Starbuck think she was? Back home, Kara Thrace was exactly the kind of girl that Sandstorm and her friends used to make fun of in school. She was the tomboy who hung out with the "wrong" crowd and Sandstorm would've never even given her the time of day!
Reminding herself that she was Julie Anne Frakking Darling and no one messed with the prom queen, she squared her shoulders, took a deep breath, flipped her hair and looked around the rec room. She spotted Hot Dog in a corner flipping through a magazine and made her way over.
"Hey Hot Dog!" she said, using her "come get me" sexy smile.
Hot Dog looked up, surprised to see the Specialist (what was her name? Sweetheart? Something stupid like that) talking to him. "Hey."
Sandstorm slid in a chair, leaned over the table and winked at Hot Dog, "so did you hear? It's all over the ship! I wonder who won the pot!"

Date: 2010-12-01 04:47 am (UTC)Hesitating, then shaking his head, Lee realized he was being foolish. Let them look. Hell most of Galactica was already assuming they were doing it on every available surface on the ship anyway. Even his father.
He grimaced, and turned to Kara, placing his hand on her lower back. "C'mon."
He steered her over to a nearby table and they sat down. A waitress hussled over and took their drink orders, and then he looked at Kara.
"So...now what?"
