Episode 1 - Post Unfinished Business can be found by clicking here

Today we're jumping up one episode to
"The Passage"

The entire fleet is cranky and hungry from strict food rationing.  Athena has found the algae planet and in order to get there the fleet has to travel through the radiation filled gas cloud.  Tensions are high, plans need to be made, and since it's been crisis after crisis with the fleet and fighter squadron the pilots still haven't been able to figure out where they stand.  Here's a handy episode rundown courtesy of Battlestar Wiki if you need specifics.

But first to catch you up....

Previously on the NT RPG:

We started the story at the end of UB and Lee and Kara remained laying in the boxing ring after everyone had gone.  The knuckledraggers were ordered by Tigh to get the hanger deck back into shape.  Helo came along and saved the day by getting the pilots up and off the deck.

Lee went on his own to the head to shower and clear his mind of all that had transpired at the dance.  Helo had another plan and dropped Starbuck right back into his lap by delivering her over his shoulder to the head.  The crew was sure to start gossiping so Starbuck cleared the room and she and Lee got down to talking about the current state of their relationship.  Lee won’t cheat and tells Kara he wants more, Kara admits leaving him in the field and marrying Anders was a mistake and lets it slip that there is more to her abduction on New Caprica.  Lee pushes and Kara agrees to talk to him about Leoben and what happened during the occupation

Meanwhile, Roslin sits with Adama in Sickbay while he’s getting patched up from his round with the Chief.  Cottle reprimands the old man and orders him off duty for 24 hrs.  The President escorts the Admiral back to his quarters and along the way they run into Col. Tigh who lets the cat out of the bag about Starbuck and Apollo’s night on New Caprica.  Adama is, of course, dumbfounded.  Once in Bill’s quarters Laura tells him that Kara would look to the stars at night and see Pegasus passing and that now she understood that all those months on New Caprica, Kara was missing Lee.

Chief and Cally were trying to sort out the crew chatter about the Dance and find out if the deck gang was doing their jobs or gossiping.  Helo and Athena discuss their friends and hope that none of them get hurt in the mess.  Sleep eludes Karl and he makes his way to the Gym where Starbuck is already going at the punching bag, the two talk and Kara confides in Helo about her situation with Sam and Lee.  He reminds her that she deserves to be happy.

Kat’s avoiding all the drama by heading to the firing range and in walks Sam Anders.  Sam knows he’s eventually going to have to face his wife but refuses to be the one to run after her.  Kat and Sam both shoot off a few rounds and Kat feels bad for the man as she has witnessed what a Starbuck dressing down does to a nugget, she invites him for a drink.

After his conversation about New Caprica with Kara in the ready room, Lee makes a decision that no matter what happens he’s leaving Dee.  He makes his way back to his quarters and begins to pack when Dee walks in.  Kara exhausted from the dance and talking, returns to the head to grab a shower before her lunch date with Apollo.

People all over Galactica know that things have changed and everyone wonders what will happen next…

I know this has been posted 100X but people like to have it at the ready instead of going back to older posts....

"But what?" Lee scoffed, reaching for his own clothes and carefully maneuvering in the tight space to yank his briefs on. "You really think that if we're not in some kind of officially sanctioned relationship I'm going to care about you any less? Please. I think we passed the point of 'really frakked up' a hell of a long time ago, don't you?"

Angry now, he tugged on his pants and yanked the curtain back, climbing out of the bunk and ignoring the sudden silence, as the few pilots left in the room shot curious glances at him quickly before their gazes skittered away.

Shit. This was exactly why she didn't like talking about things. Especially with Lee. She inevitably ended up saying something really frakking stupid without even meaning to. Her heart started to hammer in her chest at the sight of him turning away from her. No. Godsdamnit, she was trying too hard for him to run away like that. She shimmied into her briefs, getting herself as decent as quickly as possible and bolted out after him. "Where the hell are you going!?" she demanded, grabbing his wrist.

"I'm going to talk to the admiral," he sneered, shaking her off and pulling his tanks over his head. "To tell him that I don't particularly give a damn if he doesn't approve of us and that he has no frakking right to attack you for something that's not even any of his godsdamned business." Lee was furious, the more he thought about it, the more his jaw clenched, his fists bunching with the hypocrisy of it all. "He can't treat you like that. If he has a problem with us, then he should lay it on me."

Kara snagged his wrist and pulled him back down to her bunk. "Are you frakking insane?!" she snapped. She pulled the curtain shut, not wanting to have any more of an audience than they already had. "I know you're pissed, but this whole running off to the Admiral to defend your girlfriend's honor thing isn't gonna do either of us any good!"

He stared at Kara, annoyed at her obnoxious tone and still pissed at his dad's typical my-way-or-the-highway behavior, and...then her words registered. "Wait, what was that?" He felt his face curving into a grin, even as she looked at him blankly. "That middle part?"

Kara shook her head, eyebrow raised. "What--?" She paged back through her last sentence, trying to figure out what she had said that was so out of the ordinary.

...defend your girlfriend's honor...

The word had slipped out so easily, she didn't even realize she'd said it. "I... I uh..." Despite her stammering she smiled. "Guess I can't take it back, huh?"

Lee fought the grin threatening to erupt and tried to look solemn. "No, I'm sorry, I have it on good authority that there's no takebacks allowed." Lee nodded, his face all business, even as his arms crept around her waist, pulling Kara closer. He held her eyes as he leaned in and pressed a kiss to her mouth.

"So, you're my girlfriend now, huh?" He smirked, after they finally broke apart. "Does that mean I have to carry your flight reports to class for you? Are we gonna play spin the bottle at the next briefing?" He cocked an eyebrow at her. "Do we get seven minutes in heaven in one of the tool sheds on the hangar deck?" He was laughing before he even finished getting the words out.

"If it's only seven minutes I'm going to have to seriously reconsider," Kara said, grinning as she slugged him lightly in the arm. She kissed him again, swallowing his laughter, until they were both quiet again.

Girlfriend, she repeated the word in her head, liking the sound of it. "So, does the great Apollo really think he's up for the challenge?"

"Guess I'd better be, because you're stuck with me for a hell of a lot longer than seven minutes." An old memory flitted through his mind suddenly, and Lee tilted his head down, bumping his forehead against Kara's. "Some hotshot problem pilot of mine once told me I'm stuck with you till the end. You're my destiny, remember?"

That wasn't exactly how Kara'd phrased it, actually, but nevertheless, it felt true to Lee. Since the moment she'd opened the door to him back on Caprica all those years ago, it was like they'd been set on some inevitable collision course. For all they'd done to fight it over the years, Lee remained positive, convinced more than ever in fact, that this was meant to be.

Kara's eyes fluttered shut, feeling the warmth of his breath against her face as he spoke--her own words coming back to her. A slow smile spread across her face, letting herself believe--finally, for once--that this would actually work. They had fought against this connection for so long, she had done more than her share to try to sever it herself, but nothing was able to keep them apart. And now it seemed like nothing would truly keep them apart.

A smile spread across her face, as she opened her eyes. She didn't want the moment to end, but life went on and they had jobs to do. "Come on, Lee. There's no food left but I think there's still some shit coffee in the mess." She gave him a pat on the knee as she pulled the curtain open once more. Thankfully the other pilots had vacated the area. "How about a coffee date?"
