Episode 1 - Post Unfinished Business can be found by clicking here

Today we're jumping up one episode to
"The Passage"

The entire fleet is cranky and hungry from strict food rationing.  Athena has found the algae planet and in order to get there the fleet has to travel through the radiation filled gas cloud.  Tensions are high, plans need to be made, and since it's been crisis after crisis with the fleet and fighter squadron the pilots still haven't been able to figure out where they stand.  Here's a handy episode rundown courtesy of Battlestar Wiki if you need specifics.

But first to catch you up....

Previously on the NT RPG:

We started the story at the end of UB and Lee and Kara remained laying in the boxing ring after everyone had gone.  The knuckledraggers were ordered by Tigh to get the hanger deck back into shape.  Helo came along and saved the day by getting the pilots up and off the deck.

Lee went on his own to the head to shower and clear his mind of all that had transpired at the dance.  Helo had another plan and dropped Starbuck right back into his lap by delivering her over his shoulder to the head.  The crew was sure to start gossiping so Starbuck cleared the room and she and Lee got down to talking about the current state of their relationship.  Lee won’t cheat and tells Kara he wants more, Kara admits leaving him in the field and marrying Anders was a mistake and lets it slip that there is more to her abduction on New Caprica.  Lee pushes and Kara agrees to talk to him about Leoben and what happened during the occupation

Meanwhile, Roslin sits with Adama in Sickbay while he’s getting patched up from his round with the Chief.  Cottle reprimands the old man and orders him off duty for 24 hrs.  The President escorts the Admiral back to his quarters and along the way they run into Col. Tigh who lets the cat out of the bag about Starbuck and Apollo’s night on New Caprica.  Adama is, of course, dumbfounded.  Once in Bill’s quarters Laura tells him that Kara would look to the stars at night and see Pegasus passing and that now she understood that all those months on New Caprica, Kara was missing Lee.

Chief and Cally were trying to sort out the crew chatter about the Dance and find out if the deck gang was doing their jobs or gossiping.  Helo and Athena discuss their friends and hope that none of them get hurt in the mess.  Sleep eludes Karl and he makes his way to the Gym where Starbuck is already going at the punching bag, the two talk and Kara confides in Helo about her situation with Sam and Lee.  He reminds her that she deserves to be happy.

Kat’s avoiding all the drama by heading to the firing range and in walks Sam Anders.  Sam knows he’s eventually going to have to face his wife but refuses to be the one to run after her.  Kat and Sam both shoot off a few rounds and Kat feels bad for the man as she has witnessed what a Starbuck dressing down does to a nugget, she invites him for a drink.

After his conversation about New Caprica with Kara in the ready room, Lee makes a decision that no matter what happens he’s leaving Dee.  He makes his way back to his quarters and begins to pack when Dee walks in.  Kara exhausted from the dance and talking, returns to the head to grab a shower before her lunch date with Apollo.

People all over Galactica know that things have changed and everyone wonders what will happen next…

I know this has been posted 100X but people like to have it at the ready instead of going back to older posts....

"Uh sir. Yes sir. I mean, no sir. I mean, sorry sir. I was just talking to the Chief and Cally about Starbuck & Apol...."

"Um ... nothing sir. I ... well, it's just that I saw ..." Sandstorm shuffled around as she started going over the checklist on Showboat's viper. "And ... well, I saw them Showboat!" She just couldn't contain her excitement and forgot all protocol and the fact that she was a newbie and could get in serious trouble if she kept this up. "They were right there! Feet hangin' off the top bunk and well, they were going at it ... hard Showboat! I wonder who won the pot!" She looked up with a wide stupid grin on her face waiting to see Showboat's reaction.

A little scared of Showboat getting in her face like that, Sandstorm backed away a few steps and started stammering, "yes sir. I mean, no sir, of course not sir. I just know what I saw and I saw ..."

"Ahem."

Lee cleared his throat loudly as he stepped up behind one of the deckhands with a funny name. Sand storm? Something like that. Her reputation preceded her anyway. She was known for being one of the worst gossips on Galactica, and catching Showboat's alarmed face over her shoulder, he had a pretty good idea of just what--or who rather--the specialist was claiming to have seen so adamantly.

"Am I interrupting something?"

Sandstorm jumped and turned around coming face to face with the CAG. She blushed and tried to keep her composure. Major Adama was not just the CAG and technically her superior officer. He was also one of the hottest pilots on Galactica. Hell, who was she kidding? He was one of the hottest men in the entire Fleet and like any other single (and lonely) girl, Sandstorm lusted after him in the privacy of her bunk. She'd never really spoken to him before and coming face to face with the object of her many - many - fantasies had her tongue-tied.

"Major Adama ... I ...."

Amused, Lee crossed his arms over his chest and cocked an eyebrow. He wanted to see exactly how the girl was going to get out of this one.

"You were saying, Specialist?" Lee smirked, and splayed a hand over his heart. "Far be it from me, to interrupt your no doubt scintillating conversation."

Lee liked Marcia; she was a good pilot, a sharp thinker and she didnt' suffer fools gladly. But there was no way he was letting this specialist off the hook that easy.

"Really, Captain?" he said, not turning his head her way, but keeping his gaze fixed on the young deckhand. "Because I could've sworn I heard something about feet dangling off a rack in the pilots bunkroom. Two pairs of feet. Two pairs of... very familiar feet. Isn't that what you were saying, Specialist?"

Sandstorm was stuck and she knew it. If she admitted that she'd seen the CAG and Starbuck going at it in the bunk, she'd not only get reprimanded, she's pretty much get her ass handed to her on a plate and assigned to graveyard shifts and crap duties for the rest of her life. She swallowed audibly, chanced a quick look behind her at Showboat (who was no help whatsoever), turned around, summoned all her courage and tried not to stare at the CAG's arms and chest stretched so deliciously in that jacket.

"No one sir. I thought I saw Star.... I mean Racetrack? And Hot Dog? ... Or no ... maybe it was just her ... asleep in her rack and she was ... um ... maybe she was just .... maybe she'd just kicked off the covers and her feet were dangling sir ... it wasn't anything ... um .."

Sandstorm was really a terrible liar and the CAG's presence and his unwavering gaze (gods those eyes!) were really doing a number on her and she decided to fall back on her old standby. She was Julie Anne Darling, Prom Queen of Caprica High and she knew how to get herself out of a jam with a man. She stopped her stammering, looked up at Major Adama, tilted her head and flashed her sweetest "damsel in distress" smile. "Actually sir, Showboat here is right. We were just talking about visually checking repairs," and she let her eyes wander down the Major's body slowly as she drawled out the words, "and make sure everything is confirmed before talking to anyone about it."

Lee bit back a laugh as he watched the deckhand turn a progressively deeper shade of scarlet as Showboat gave her a dressing-down.

"I hope you've learned a very important lesson here, Darling." He smiled. "Next time you think you see something interesting, why don't you share it with Starbuck?"

Lee grinned. "I think she'd be happy to...check your facts for you, so to speak."

He strolled past the still dumbstruck deckhand and headed for his bird, laughing quietly with every step.
