Ok, y'all-- I fail at keeping up with the rewatch lately... but GUESS WHAT?  WE'RE BACK ON, MY FRIENDS!!!  Below is a picspam live blog of one of the less exciting episodes, Litmus.  (Definitely not exciting from a shippy perspective...)

 -         How icky is it that Cally is guarding the door for Chief and Boomer's rendezvous?

-         Chief! Boomer! Aww, how I wish y'all could have ended up together. (And Chief, you looked best with short hair.)

-         Ewww, charbuck bodies in sickbay. Kara looks totally freaked out. (As she should.)

-         Is it just me or does the Master at Arms look like Lorelai Gilmore?

-         Awww, Tigh saved Adama's life—a lovely bromance is born.  Such longing... such passion!  **sigh**  OTP, my friends.

-         The still! The origin of Chief's home brew (without which there would have been an alcohol shortage long long ago.)

-         Heh—Cally was reading a trashy novel in her downtime. You think it might have been K/L fanfic? ; P

-         Is this the first time we see the press core? The first time they have a press conference?

-         Oh look! Davis—I mean, Crashdown. He's being all protective of Boomer. (Am I the only one who ever thought that Crashdown might have had kind of a crush on Boomer?)

-         Ok, this comes up in fandom and fics a lot—breaking the fraternizing regs. What exactly are the regs? You can have a relationship with another person in the fleet, so long as they're not you direct superior, right? And what does direct superior mean? (For example, when Lee was CAG and Kara was lead pilot, that was a sirect superior relationship that would have been in violation, right? But not if Lee was commanding Pegasus and Kara was CAG on Galactica, right? What if Kara was XO on Galactica and Lee was CAG? Is that still a direct superior relationship?)

-         DUDE! I love that they found a court reporter! I don't think they had one during Baltar's trial, did they?

-         Oh no! I forgot there was Kara/Baltar interaction. He's totally trying to come on to her and she's totally grilling him on cylon security. Heh.

-         I miss Six and head!Six being all violent. Those were the days.

-         Y'all, is Lee not even in this episode? This is most sad-making. : /

-         Uh oh—Lorelai's getting a little bit bitchy. Papadama is not taking this very well.

-         Awww, this is sad. The Chief/Boomer breakup. : (

So that's it. There were precisely two Kara scenes, no Lee scenes, and a lot of court reporting. Not the greatest ep in the world, but it did move the major Chief/Boomer, Sharon/Helo, human-looking cylon stories along. And it gave us more of Doral wearing ill-fitting jackets in bad colors. ; )

 Thus endeth the live blog.

If I recall correctly, Jamie said TPTB were kind enough to leave him out of two episodes (I think he might only have one scene in Six Degrees, which is the following ep) so that he could go back to the UK for the birth of his twins. (I'm thinking this was the twins, rather than Isla.)

I think a lot of people may have had a crush on Boomer. She was kinda the cute kid sister of the pilots, from the way people reacted to her and treated her. Well loved and oft-protected. She had a really fabulous family among the crew on the Galactica and I'm 18 different kinds of furious with Cavil for taking away her free will and forcing her to betray them. A Pox on Cavil!

Ahem. Moving along.

And it gave us more of Doral wearing ill-fitting jackets in bad colors.

LOL! Yeah, I'm not sure what was up with Cylon Male fashion sense. There was a definite disconnect somewhere in that circutry.

I love that Baltar is totally trying to put the moves on Kara, and she's just like "so do you think they may have been trying to kill you?" She's SO not impressed by his attempts. Makes me snicker every time.

Okay maybe this wasn't technically in the ep but it was a deleted scene and we've got to get our K/L fix, right? ;P

This was one of those episode we could've done without. I think the whole point was to see the courts and reporters for a future episode. I think!

Looking back, it was weird to see Cally being the door guard but I guess that's why Hot Dog was her baby daddy.

No Lee in the episode makes me sad. Not a lot of pilots at all really.

As far as the frat regs. From what I understand, you can't have a relationship with your superior officer or someone who is in your chain of command. If Kara was Galactica's XO and Lee was the CAG, that would be a no-no. I guess the Admiral or XO really couldn't have a relationship with anyone because they were everyone's superior. Now if Lee was Pegasus and Kara on the Big G. Go for it, not in the same chain of command. Yes, I learned all that from TV. The useless info in my brain about the military.:)

Glad you are back! Where is your partner in crime?

I use to watch JAG before and Stargate SG-1, so I think I've mastered the frat regs and not just show but the real ones as well. I wonder if I can get a certificate in that??

Cosette, I hope everything is well. I haven't seen her around since she left for her vacation about a month ago. I hope everything is fine with her and her family.

That would be fun!:)

I'm about to find people to find her because it is unlike her to be off grid for so long.

YaY Bee! YaY Rewatch! So glad to see you back in action again. And now, to the issue at hand. NO LEE = EPISODE FAIL. I am so glad to learn that Jamie's absence in these two episodes was due to his kids' birth, rather than just lameitude on the part of the writers. As usual, shippers live in the deleted scenes!

A few other thoughts:

Cally + Chief + Boomer = Creepy.
Crash definitely had a crush on Boomer. What was so compelling, really? Helo? Chief? Anyone?
Sgt. Hadrian scares me.
What is Kara holding in the scene with Baltar? A metal dildo?
And doesn't the Papadama/Tigh bromance violate the chain of command too? Heh.
Last, Tigh would never qualify as eye-candy but overall he turned out to be one of my favorite characters of the show - kick ass, no apologies, mostly a total jerk but with a secret heart of gold - just like Starbuck! And his reaction to being a cylon = classiest ever.

Bring back the pilots, dammit.

Yay for the rewatch being back. I have this cool analysis of the finale that I want to post at some point.

Here's my Debbie Downer thought:

Back in season one, Kara and Lee's story was so intertwined that when JB left for England, they didn't give Kara anything to do either. (She didn't have much in Litmus or Six Degrees to my knowledge.)

How did they go from not being able to write them apart to not knowing how to write them together? :(

"Back in season one, Kara and Lee's story was so intertwined that when JB left for England, they didn't give Kara anything to do either. "How did they go from not being able to write them apart to not knowing how to write them together? :("- I never quite thought of it that way, but it makes total sense. And it makes my heart ache for pilots. :*( Thanks. ;P

Yay, the rewatch is back. This is so happy making. ;) Now only if innibs could write another amazing(!) frakked up fairy tale about our pilots (I just watched "The Princess Bride" again while sitting for a friend)....

"Awww, Tigh saved Adama's life—a lovely bromance is born. Such longing... such passion! **sigh** OTP, my friends."- LOL! Saul Tigh <3 Bill Adama. So true! Who could predicted it would ( be one of the only ones to) stand the test of time. ;)

Oh yay!! I've been gone for a few months due to the loss of a good friend to pancreatic cancer...and then the turning of a "kara/lee" relationship into a "kara/sam" relationship in which I just had to get rid of the puppy dog. He should have known Lee doesn't pull his punches and Kara doesn't respect men that do. Sigh.

I feel like I've been given a gift with the rewatch...I was worried we'd be so far along I'd never catch up. I hate that we've all obviously had lots to keep us too busy to be as shippy as we should be, but I love that we are all hopefully popping back in at the same time.

Has anyone found Cosette? Is she okay?

And, Bee, you likely don't remember but I haven't forgotten that I owe you an answer to your questions in your feminism thread in which I talked about submission...I will get back there with an answer...I promise.

Wishing everyone loads of k/l love and looking forward to the next epi!!
