Daily Pilots Post: The Favorite Meme

Hello fellow shippers! My name is Cosette and I will be your DPP host for this week. My fabulous predecessors have done a wonderful job over these past weeks, and I hope to keep the fun going! :D

We have already discussed our favorite moments, scenes, fics, vids… And I don’t know about all of you, but personally, when it comes to K/L related stuff, I am inherently conflicted when it comes to choose a favourite anything. Of course I have my preferences –I could probably pick my 5 favorite scenes and my 10 most beloved fics or come up with a list of, say, 15 songs that scream pilots to me; but when I have to cut down the list to one, the task becomes almost impossible. What I intend for today’s post, though, is to make you choose... Hence my question is, if you had to make a choice and pick one, ONLY ONE, which would be...

*Your favorite K/L scene. And why?

*Your favorite Kara/Starbuck moment. And why?

*Your favorite Lee/Apollo moment. And why?

*Your favorite pic of them? (evidence would be muchly appreciated!)

*Your favorite K/L fic?
I know this is a really tough call, there are so many wonderful stories out there, but you probably have a story that holds a special place in your heart for a bunch of different reasons… Maybe it was the first good one you read, maybe it’s the story that made you cry harder or touched you in a way you didn’t expected, or explored a certain aspect of Lee and Kara’s relationship in a way you found utterly satisfying --or who knows, maybe it is the smuttiest smut you’ve ever read :)).

*Your favorite K/L song?

*Your favorite K/L vid?

*Needless to say, feel free to answer to those questions you feel like. Also, I’d love to hear yours “why’s” about pretty much all your choices. After all, the reasoning behind an election is as important as the choice in itself (and I am that nosy and chatty, hehe).

Ugh, Cosette! Why must you do this to me?? I am awful at picking just one favorite. In fact, I often refuse to do so b/c I don't ever feel like the answer is accurate...since it will change if you ask me later (even in the same day)! However, just for you, I will try my best...

**Your favorite K/L scene. And why?

My eternal love for UBEX is already known. My favorite is the "I missed you." "I missed you too." exchange.

I love that Kara initiates it (both the dance with Lee and being the first to admit missing each other). This scene was so honest and that gave me so much hope as a little K/L shipper wanting things to be right with the world and for K/L to work it all out and end up together. It was also still S3 so there was time for K/L to take that honesty and build on it.

**Your favorite Kara/Starbuck moment. And why?

Oh, Kara. I love you so much. Gah...I can't pick a fave. I think I loved her from the first moment I saw her so I will list my first "Kara sighting" as my favorite. My first love was Kara worn out and painting on the Demetrius, trying to figure out her path...b/c that was the first epi I watched. I must leave this question alone now or I will erase and rewrite until I've gone through every Kara/Starbuck moment in history (minus the Sam nonsense, but actually including the Leoben stuff b/c I think those interactions helped her figure herself out).

**Your favorite Lee/Apollo moment. And why?

I love me some Lee, but my favorite Lee moment is completely prejudiced by my love of animals. I adored Lee bringing Jake to Romo. <333 Lee is so good at everything he does, but he especially stands out when reading what other people need. The Lee/Jake/Romo/dead cat scene is just one example of Lee's way of trying to take care of everyone.

**Your favorite pic of them? (evidence would be muchly appreciated!)

Hmmm...I think of them together in the memorial hall a lot. It's sweet and honest and at a point where they are accepting themselves and each other as whole individuals, faults and all.

*Your favorite K/L fic?

Right now it's Bee's Borrowed Time...I am loving it so much. It's refreshing, amusing, honest, heart-breaking, and life affirming in a way that only pilots can be.

*Your favorite K/L song?

This one changes often. Right now I'm loving the Indigo Girls for them...maybe "Romeo and Juliet"...The Fray also has many a K/L song and "How to Save a Life" was one of the first vids I saw for K/L, so it's always reminiscent of pilots too.

*Your favorite K/L vid?

Too many to list...it seems while many of us shippers sought the fanfic when first entering fandom, I sought the youtube vids...and I love them all. However, lately Mariks' "When You Say Nothing At All" is my favorite.

UB/UBEX is my favorite episode of anything ever. LOVE LOVE LOVE this ep to bits, it’s Kara and Lee in a nutshell. And something I really love about the "I missed you/I missed you too" exchange is that it’s not necessarily romentic. So touching. Gah!

Really? I didn’t know! (and what did you think of the Kara/Sam sexing we had after that scene, btw? –I am really curious to know how you perceived them, since you had probably no idea about Kara and Lee).

Honestly, I felt nothing about Kara and Sam on the Demetrius...it was just blah. I kinda liked Kara/Leoben, obviously not having seen the NC arc yet, I didn't have the whole "stalker" knowledge of him and I felt like he really did want to help Kara work things out. Soon enough I saw K/L in action though (when I went back to the beginning and saw the mini) and I fell for the ship.
