wisteria_ posted a new BSG/L&O:UK cross-over fic today.  I would wax poetic, but I've been drinking, so I'm going to keep this simple.  It's really well done.  If you haven't read it yet, you should.

It got me thinking about other very well done AU cross-over stories.  Specifically, rayruz 's Did I Fall Asleep.  And about AU's in general.  There are a ton of amazing AU and cross-over stories out there, and I want to know about them.

But I also want to know what your "what if" questions are.  Have you ever wondered what would have happened if Kara had actually been an artist taking a vacation on Cloud Nine when the worlds ended?  What if Lee had been a lawyer, rather than a reservist?  Would he have even been on Galactica?  What if they'd lived during the American Revolution?  What if... what?

So, two questions for today.

2) What AU or cross-over would you like to see, but haven't yet?

I am just terrible with remembering titles and authors, but there's an awesome fic where the fleet stops at least some of the first attacks on the colonies but Lee basically ends up exiled to some sole-charge outpost in the ass end of nowhere.

I like how for a change Kara is the golden girl and Lee is the one in trouble. Kara's still got her issues (from what I can remember) but Lee is much more openly damaged in this AU. It makes for an interesting change :)

Hopefully someone out there has a better memory than me.

I always said I wasn't much of an AU fan, meaning the really wildly supplanted stories, yet...I've come around on that somewhat. (Snobbishly, I think I read a lot of really poorly written stuff in the early days of discovering this fandom and FF.net where they were called "AU" but it was just an excuse to write them OOC.)

Anyway, Did I Fall Asleep? (BSG/Dollhouse) and Fight the Break of Dawn (BSG/Hunger Games), both by rayruz, are my favorite crossover fics. But I also really love queenofthorns' Cyllon High crack-fic series (BSG/Friday Night Lights). As for AU (that isn't just like Academy fic or changing the finale/outcome of show), innibis's Rapunzel is a favorite and rawles' Periapsis (where Lee and Kara are sociopaths, caring nothing for anyone but each other).

I know exactly what you mean. It's one thing to make changes to the circumstances that effect the way the characters react and develop, but stay in line with what we know of them. It's another thing entirely to just warp the whole thing and make them different people entirely.

I LOVE "It All Came Tumbling Down". It's one of the first K/L fics I've read because I liked the "captured by cylon" storyline and the earth AU was fantastic looking at them from an outsiders POV.

AU? This is harder as I love AUs. Hmm. I really like this New Caprica AU called Back 2 Good (http://community.livejournal.com/pi_pieces/tag/back2good) by pi_pieces. Scroll down for the beginning. :-)

And I love the New York AU (http://leiascully.livejournal.com/480377.html#cutid11) by leiascully. (Scroll all the way down.) Really love that one. It's like BSG crossed over with New York. :-)

I fail at remembering tiles and I don't read many crossover fics. I don't know why but I never really got into them. Now AU, I'm all for.:)

The one AU I have read was Did I fall Asleep; beautiful fic.

Over on ff.net; I read a 24 and L&O:UK crossover. Dana meets Matt; a short piece but it was sweet. Can't think of the name.

I would like to see an AU story in which Lee and Kara would travel back in time (perhaps to the first cylon war) and meet a younger William Adama. I think it might be really interesting to see their interaction without the burdens of the history between them. They might fight together and develop a genuine friendship and respect for each other. Maybe it would take a while for Lee to find out that he was in fact his father. Kara would have to be there of course and they would be together, helping and supporting each other. It would be interesting to see her relationship with Bill, as well.

Crossovers.....YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!

RAY!!!! She is my crossover queen. Did I Fall Asleep, Out of the Black, Scars That Words Have Carved, Fight the Break of Dawn. ALL SO FRAKKING AWESOME THAT IT MAKES ME CAPSLOCKY! I want more.

I dig me some AU, because while splashing around in the canon pool is fun it can also be depressing. I like happy AU fics where the kids get a chance to be normal and we see glimpses of the pilots we knew but also see them moving forward to something past the angst and troubled times. It's been mentioned above but I always pimp Pi_Pieces because my girl Pi writes some fun series with all different scenarios to get lost in and I have a thing for pilot babies (pilots with kids...what's not to love?). Funny, sweet, hot and happy....I can get lost for hours with that combination. I'm also in love with Bee's Cave!Pilots series (update soon yes??). There's also the Lee/Zak/Sam Adama Brothers series which has been lots of fun to read but I can't for the moment remember the author, I know it's one of you so I apologize. If I was at home I could look at my bookmarks.

You have already mentioned some of my faves (especially innibis fairy tales, which are delightful), but here there are some more AU I really love…

Those Journeymen Divine (http://mercurial-wit.livejournal.com/36669.html) by fahye and stars_like_dust Kara and Lee as sociopaths cylons. Love the concept and the brilliant execution.

Aerilon Girls Are Easy (http://flowrs4ophelia.livejournal.com/113085.html) by flowrs4ophelia. The cylons attacks never happened, but Lee and Kara are still the same. Love how it deals with such a thorny topic like the attraction Kara and Lee felt for each other while Zak was still alive. So bittersweet and wonderful.

Circuit (http://daybreak777.livejournal.com/115814.html) by daybreak777. All of this has happened before and all of this will happen again. Literally. Five glimpses of reincarnated pilots across the millennia. So very good (and I love that it was written before the finale).

As for crossovers… rayruz is the Queen of Crossover in K/L land for me. Love all her crossover fics. I’d also mention Scars that Words have Carved (http://community.livejournal.com/tulipfic/tag/!story:%20scars%20that%20words%20have%20carved), her Kara and Faith story. Read the whole thing in one fell swoop a couple of days ago and loved it, it’s a very satisfying story.

OOH I meant to rec Journeymen when I was talking about Periapsis up thread. During the show I was not so enamored by the idea that Kara and Lee could be cylons, but post-finale I re-read it and thought "I really wished it had happened this way." It gives them that connection back that was so missing in the finale.

Reunion: the Beta Version by Choosing Sarah is one of my favorte AUs. Lee and Kara get transported back to Caprica pre-attacks and are the only ones who know what's going to happen and have to try to stop it. It's a WIP but it's so goooood. Her grasp of the characters is astoundin

I love rayruz's "Out of the Black" http://community.livejournal.com/ootbverse/ and how she worked the crew of Serenity so neatly into the BSG verse and of course had some awesome K/L.

If anyone can help me out with this I'd greatly appreciate it. I read a Supernatural/BSG crossover a while ago and can't seem to find it now. It was a oneshot with Dean as a raptor pilot and he was bringing Sam aboard the Galactica to help the Chief out with repairs. Cally yelled at Dean for putting dents onto the hangar deck and the Chief said he didn't need Sam's help.

I would love to read more BSG/SN crossovers that are K/L (most I come across are Dean/Kara).
