wisteria_ posted a new BSG/L&O:UK cross-over fic today.  I would wax poetic, but I've been drinking, so I'm going to keep this simple.  It's really well done.  If you haven't read it yet, you should.

It got me thinking about other very well done AU cross-over stories.  Specifically, rayruz 's Did I Fall Asleep.  And about AU's in general.  There are a ton of amazing AU and cross-over stories out there, and I want to know about them.

But I also want to know what your "what if" questions are.  Have you ever wondered what would have happened if Kara had actually been an artist taking a vacation on Cloud Nine when the worlds ended?  What if Lee had been a lawyer, rather than a reservist?  Would he have even been on Galactica?  What if they'd lived during the American Revolution?  What if... what?

So, two questions for today.

1) What are your favorite AU and/or cross-over fics?

2) What AU or cross-over would you like to see, but haven't yet?

OOH I meant to rec Journeymen when I was talking about Periapsis up thread. During the show I was not so enamored by the idea that Kara and Lee could be cylons, but post-finale I re-read it and thought "I really wished it had happened this way." It gives them that connection back that was so missing in the finale.

Periapsis and Journeymen are very similar! It's true that they portray Kara and Lee in a very unsympathetic way (yay for sociopathy!), but I really love the "it's all about us and nothing else matters" concept for them. You know, both stories are somewhat cracky but not so much as it may seem.
