Tara and I were talking one day about how far you could stretch the parameters of a K/L story (me being a lover of AU, argued that you good do pretty much whatever you wanted and then she came back with-- "What like K/L as accountants? Lamesauce!" and then I thought about it for a sec and I was like WHY THE HELL NOT? THEY COULD BE SUPERCOOL SUPERSPY ACCOUNTANTS SAVING THE WORLD FROM... WHATEVER THINGS THAT ACCOUNTANTS MIGHT SAVE THE WORLD FROM.)

And so now I want to write a cracky K/L as superspy world-saving accountants. Who's with me? : D **ducks**

Also, I'm DYING to write a K/L version of Sabrina. It's a very fairy-tale-ish kind of story and could be lots of fun.

Hmm... They'd need guns for this to work for me, but I'm sure there's some way to make that work if you throw in superspy. What sort of situation would a superspy forensic accountant need guns for? And body armor.

This make me want to write crack comment fic while I'm on lunch break. I can pull something cracky together, I'm sure. It IS Friday, after all.

When the call came, Agent Adama was working diligently on their previous case's paperwork. On the third ring, he looked up, wondering why his partner, Agent Thrace, had yet to answer the phone. Her head bounced violently to music only she could hear, the headphone wire trailing down the front of her shirt to her player on the desk, her mouth working furiously, lipsyncing the lyrics. His eyes lingered a moment too long on the curve of her neck before he shook his head slightly, huffed, and picked up the phone they shared in their Forensic Accounting office at Colonial Fleet HQ.

"Adama," he snapped, harsher than he intended. The supervisor on the other end talked quickly. They didn't have much time to find enough financial misdeeds to keep a suspected mob boss planetside while the rest of the investigation continued. They were to arm themselves and meet the other agents at a suspected cover for money laundering. After jotting down the details, Lee hung up the phone and banged on the desk to get Kara's attention. "Hey! We have to get over to," he glanced down at his notes, "The Money Shot ASAP. We are to assume the place is hostile and go armed."

Kara threw an amused squint his way and tossed her player and headphones into the drawer. "Oh, it's hostile all right," she mumbled.

"What?"

"If you don't know, I'd rather wait and see your face," she laughed. Kara immediately began packing their gear, collecting guns, ammunition, bulletproof vests, their laptop, and the portable document scanner, and stuffing everything into a government issue duffel.

They didn't have far to drive before reaching their destination, a strip club if the giant, sputtering, half-lit neon legs above the door were any indication. Lee rolled his eyes, prompting a poorly contained giggle from Kara as she watched him from the driver's seat.

I'm new to the fandom so thought I would put some questions out there that fall into the "things you always wanted to know but were afraid to ask" category. Hopefully there are some other newbies that just came out of the lurking closet in the roll call post a few days ago that have similar thoughts. I think I have figured out a few for myself...please correct me if I'm wrong.
AU=alternate universe
RFN=right frakking now
UST=un(something) sexual tension
What is a BDU? A flist? A gif? What is the proper way to squee and flail?

I'll take a crack at 'em:

UST= Unresolved Sexual Tension, which can become RST (resolved sexual tension) under the right unclothed circumstances.
BDU= Battle Dress Uniform (the camoflage Lee where's at times, for instance in the episode Home Part 1).
flist= friend list
gif= an animated image without sound. They are a fairly small file size series images (seen in the posts above)

Feel free to squee and flail however you like. I typically imagine Kermit the Frog opening up the Muppet Show when I do either. *waves arms wildly over head- Ladies and Gentlemen, no_takebacks, YAY!*

Harry Potter/BSG game

Hi everyone. Since today is open to random craziness, I thought I would confess that one of the games my husband and I played while watching the Galactica DVDs was figuring out which of the four Harry Potter Houses each character fit into the best. For those of you who aren't into the Potterverse, it's just a simple personality division:

Gryffindors defined by: Courage
Ravenclaws defined by: Intellect
Hufflepuffs defined by: Loyalty
Slytherins defined by: Ambition/Cunning

The characteristic flaws of these four House types are open to debate, but I tend to think Gryffindors have problems with recklessness/ego, Ravenclaws have problems with indecisiveness/impracticality, Hufflepuffs have problems with leadership/independence, and Slytherins have problems with prejudice/rule-keeping.

Given that, we Sorted the characters like so:

I personally think "Sometimes a Great Notion" is a texbook case for seeing these personality strengths and flaws play themselves out among a bunch of the characters...
