DPP: Piloty Affection
Apr. 7th, 2010 12:05 amPilot hugs mean a lot of different things: thank the gods you're alive, I missed you, I forgive you, I trust you, and I love you. Pilots use physical affection (and eyefrakking) to express all of the things they never say in words. The two scenes below bookend the pilot experience for me. The Home hug and kiss, the first we see in the series, takes everyone (including Kara and Lee) by surprise. The brig kiss, the final important kiss for me, evokes painful longing, relief, separation, and, above all else, deep love and affection. It's painful and beautiful at the same time.
What is your favorite piloty affection? Please provide evidence. :D

I just realized too...and I don't want to stir things up...but I don't remember any of these moments of pure joyful play with K/S. (I don't mean pyramid, but childish play.) Even K/Leoben played in the paint and such, but K/S never seemed to play. I guess maybe that's part of why K/L always seemed so strong in comparison to their other relationships. It's the little moments...finger painting, water fights...that make K/L poignant and real.
