DPP: Piloty Affection

Pilot hugs mean a lot of different things: thank the gods you're alive, I missed you, I forgive you, I trust you, and I love you. Pilots use physical affection (and eyefrakking) to express all of the things they never say in words. The two scenes below bookend the pilot experience for me. The Home hug and kiss, the first we see in the series, takes everyone (including Kara and Lee) by surprise. The brig kiss, the final important kiss for me, evokes painful longing, relief, separation, and, above all else, deep love and affection. It's painful and beautiful at the same time.

Hm, nothing link-worthy really. Just that in my episode posts throughout season 4, I spent a lot of time going "WHY AREN'T THEY HUGGING THERE SHOULD BE MORE HUGS." And then I sometimes made them hug in fic.
