There's something about this particular shot of their Kiss from Home pt. 1 that I just love. I don't know if the icon maker had to do much besides crop it (from stills or promotional footage of the kiss that didn't actually end up gettng aired!) but nevertheless I love that you get to see both their faces at this angle, no one's head is blocking the way, and esp. the luminescence of Katee's skin and hair agains the rather drab background. And what can I say, I love how smooshed togehter their faces are. That's a serious frakking kiss. That's a kiss that means BUSINESS. It's no quick peck on the lips which is what we kinda ended up getting in the episode. Let's face it, kids: there would no doubt have been some SEXING ON KOBOL if that was the kind of kiss they'd shared!!

K/L: Oath Kiss by medelia_fi
Another kissyface icon (I have, um, a lot of these)! This one is of course just so pretty and romantic with all the sparkles. (I kinda have a thing for sparkles). And I love that a different angle of the kiss is captured in the little inset box too. I also think of this one as my official Smutstrav icon, because it's mutiny-centric and I used it on all my smutstrav posts. So good allusions there!

K/L: Doing What by amaliak
This is one of my favorite text icons, because it's just the perfect caption for this picture and Kara and Lee's outraged faces!) Plus it's so versatile really! Someone starts spouting off crack fic ideas starring K and L as the leads from Grease or something crazy like that, then bam: there's your icon! You write some especially dirty hijinx for them to get up to in your latest fic: Heck yeah, it works! It has many possible uses this one!

K/L: Snugglepuppies by ME!
So I am not a very good icon maker. I have no lovely programs other than the dreaded MS Paint and that's so limited I can't even lighten/darken images very well. But, there's something really satisfying about knowing you want a certain icon you can't find and then just going forth and making it. I have such a kink for snuggly pilots and this is our only really snuggly moment (that doesn't immediately turn into disaster) and it just kinda makes me happy, even as goofy as it is.

First off, thanks for using my icons!! I really enjoy making them. I will make more soon!!!

Anyway, my favorite pilots icons: (i'm only going to pick a few)

I got this icon because it combines so many things that I love: Pilots. Star Wars. Parody. Inside Jokes.
I loved that Trucco and Jamie had agreed w/ Katee that Starbuck was totally Han Solo to Lee & Sam's Princess Leia. It was so cute, and this icon makes me smile and remember that I was sitting a few feet away during that conversation between them.

I don't know why, but this scene and this particular image always is striking for me. I think it's the colors and the simplicity. It's like...they're Kare and Lee..thrown into darkness and impossible situations, but they'll get through it together. It's cheesy, but there it is. It also speaks to each other characters: Kara--chin up, let's face the music, out-of-the-box thinking, guns blazing. Lee--the over thinker, considers every angle before deciding, worried about the collateral damage. It's so...GAH! I love this icon.

So, this icon appeals to me because...well, mostly because it's HOT. This scene has been iconed again and again, but THIS icon...it's so simple. Just removed the background. Boom. Changes everything. I'm so used to thinking that the more an icon has, the better it is, but this proves that less is more.
Also, it's HOT.

ok, so this is the self centered part of me. Believe it or not, I LOVE the promos that they have for the seasons. Even if some of them are monumentally bad (like season 2. WTF?). But, it's PILOTS. IN HI-RES. IN GOOD LIGHTING. Yeah, the hair and makeup are atrocious....but the pretty is still there. And therefore, this is still my fav icon I've even made.

More w/ the less is more. Pilots dancing, groping or whatever. But it's just....*sigh* WHy must this ship play w/ my heartstrings so?
Anyway, no one knows how to icon pilots better than this little lady.


Tara, I think there should be a post of the most cracktastic pilots icons ever. Because you can't get enough of those... hee.

Lol. My weeks leading the shippy train are over for now, but when I sign up for another I'll keep that in mind.

I was disappointed with the low number of posts on this thread actually. I think a lot of people couldnt' figure out how to embed their icons in a comment.

I still think that the one I mentioned earlier are pretty awesome (Princess Lee and Han Thrace).
Of course, you know that I love to MAKE cracktastic icons.
But my fav is still this one:

Yes, I know this is self centered, but the truth is that I'm not on my normal comp, so I don't have my arsenal of collected icons at my disposal. Hee.
