Weekend: I'll show you mine...

I know people tend to be busier on the weekends, but here's something that struck me as I sit down on this fine (hot) Saturday to work on several WIPs that have been languishing in google docs: what are you all working on? 

So I declare this cheer-leading weekend!

one thing I'd thought of was that Kara could be in the place of Odette (unwilling new student), and that Lee could be the one on the inside who shows her how much it doesn't suck (much like the other girls in the movie do for Odette), and them becoming friends along the way - it sort of works if I want them to have a little tension, and I envisioned the Academy as more of a smart-kid, very rigorous haven than a rich-kid place, if that makes sense? I mean, a rich-kid school that's only that wouldn't be quite so sympathetic as if the place actually served some purpose, like being the one place on Geminon that doesn't go by all their religious cray.

Ooh, that could work! Plus, since Kara's from a religious family, maybe she'd be the one on the outside at first?

I hadn't thought of bringing that into play, but it's a good idea - I could maybe try using their contrasting approaches to religion somehow (Kara's being more personal, while the Geminese nonseparation of church and state and general conservatism kind of start to get on her nerves at some point).
