Awhile ago I saw this picture on Tumblr:



I find it really interesting and a little disturbing and I would love to get my fellow shippers take on it.

Is there any fan art/meta/fanon that confuses you that you'd like to hear shippers explanations for? Please share!

It's not fanart, it was an ad campaign. I have a print copy of the original... somewhere. Anyway, though, it's an actual legit BSG ad.

That's what I thought but I've never been sure what the betrayer/betrayed thing means. I guess since these are season two promo pics (correct?) it would have been for viewers who'd been left off with Lee betraying his father by siding with Roslin and his father having betrayed Kara by being dishonest with her about Earth.

Ah! So that's what it meant! That's a good explanation I think. Naturally I thought it was about each other when I first saw it. Bill makes a lot more sense.

I never understood either. You'd kind of think that if it was both in reference to Bill that he would be in the picture somehwere. But that makes the most sense of anything I've heard.

ooooh, that makes sense! It's hard to fit that anywhere else in canon relating it to each other instead of Bill, like Bee says it'd be easier to understand if Bill were in the picture too.

Oh my god, that picture...

I am a huge musical theater geek, and the first time I saw that promo I immediately flashed to the song "Unsettled Scores" from Whistle Down the Wind.

The betrayers, the betrayed
The abandoned, the afraid
The corrupted and the celebrated
Endlessly humiliated
Gloriously big parade


And the whole song just screams BSG and if I had the clips I would so have vid'ed this already.

I've not been keeping up with N_T nor with my flist, but came across this just now... I have that poster on my wall, it was one of four promo posters that were up in bus stops, transit stations and the like. Anyway, I was lucky enough to score one on eBay. I took it to a con (July '07) to have Jamie sign it. He looked at it, frowned, and said, "I didn't betray her!" Then he put a question mark next to "Betrayed", and signed his name. ;P
