I tried to find the post on another comm that inspired this post, but that failed, so... please take a leap with me. Today, I'm asking you to do a bit of out-of-the-box thinking. Here are some questions for you to answer.*

What are some things we don't know about Kara, Lee, and the two of them together?

It's a good world view... and I think Caprica did a little more with it... but BSG handled it pretty poorly in the text of the show... seeing how all the queers were revealed to be queer in stories outside of the main canon of the show.. and all of them died except for the one whose name was drawn out of a hat to be Admiral.

Well I think we can all agree that the gender fail and the sexuality fail was epic (and I mean, when heterosexual procreation of two different species is the ballgame-- well, let's just say their dumbass Big Damn Idea really didn't lend itself to a nuanced examination of, well, anything.)

Sparklerage is the only thing that has allowed me to stay a fan of the show. That and copious amounts of miracle!hate. :D :D :D

Definitely this. They made big broad claims of sexuality not being a big deal and equality etc. but BSG was terrible at actually showing that. I love Caprica but I often feel like it's an "apply Band-Aid here!" solution for a lot of BSG's major criticisms.
