Kara/Lee fic recs: Epiphanies

So...I really couldn't think of much fic for this ep, probably because, I mean, are pilots even in it? I don't remember this episode AT ALL other than that it revealed Roslin and Adar (is that even how you spell his name? I...don't really care enough to check!) were a sekrit item, which leads me to figure they are not. Why yes, I have a very specific and blinding interest in Show--why do you ask?!

BUT ANYWAY, the fic I am about to rec is most excellent, so there's that! As Kara/Lee masochists shippers, I think we've all come to appreciate quality over quantity anyway, right? (Though of course I would not turn down any recs in the comments, just fyi--I would love to see more fic set around this period for sure.) And with that, here we go:

Yay you're listening to the song! Is it not pilots? I think it's pilots. Epiphanies, on the other hand, is not pilots. All I remember is Adar and miracle blood.

It's SO pilots! You have excellent taste. I was actually just thinking about downloading a song or two from that album since I loved the Once soundtrack (and movie, of course), so after I saw your comment about that song I knew which to get! Wanna get the Kara/vipers song too now. Well, really I want the whole album now, but that'll have to wait. :) Anyway, I'm sorry I didn't comment directly about how much I appreciated the rec! Read the post at work and meant to go back to comment later, but I FAIL at that sometimes.

That's more than I remember! So that's the miracle blood ep. Oh YEAH. LOL. I used to watch eps of BSG almost every day when I first got obsessed, but I can guarantee I haven't seen that one more than two or three times, from when I've done whole marathons only.

Strict Joy is one of the best albums I've heard in a long time. I have so many favorite songs! And I have to force myself to stop listening to them on repeat. If you are looking to download some more songs, btw, I'd recommend The Rain, or Back Broke, or I Have Loved You Wrong...

Honestly, I haven't seen Epiphanies since the very first time I watched it, oh...three years ago? I pretty much ignored all non-Kara-goodness-y episodes when I rewatched.

You're tempting me so! I'll probably download the whole album eventually; right now I'm just trying to stick to a pretty tight budget, which iTunes does its best to prevent me from accomplishing. :)

Yeah, don't blame you a bit. Rewatching las night, though, I was surprised to see that there actually were a couple Kara, Lee, and Kara/Lee scenes. Nothing groundbreaking, but it did have the scene from this icon I use and love. So...it was better than I'd expected! Still too much Roslin and Athena for me, but the rewatch comments come so fast that you can't usually even pay close attention to the episode anyway and time just flies.

Aww, thanks for the rec, hon! :) That was a quiet little fic, but A and I had so much fun writing that one.

And as for fic... is it weird to mention my own stuff? :), but I think of Elect (http://indigo419.livejournal.com/1066.html#cutid1) as a post-Epiphanies story, even though it goes AU as of 2x13. (Can't think of where else it would go in the timeline! As you say, this is a K/L-light interlude in the show...)

Hmmm, maybe this is my cue to rewatch, since we're snowbound today!

You know, I was actually just thinking about Elect recently! Thanks for letting me know this is where you'd put it in the timeline. Obviously I should have gone back checked the spoiler line on that one sooner; for some reason I was thinking it would be in late S2 (obviously my memory was a little off--since it's about whether or not to settle, I guess I'd just tied it in with the end of S2). It's a favorite of mine--I LOVE the ending so much *happy sigh*.

Thank goodness you did! That's one of my safe haven fics after that ending, lemme tell ya.

Aw, the kiddies! Gotcha. Not everyone actually watches! Some just look at screen caps or even just chat based on the comments, since a couple of us will practically narrate the episode. I, for instance, am quite fond of quoting my favorite lines just for the hell of it. And then there is the afterparty, where half-naked Lee HAS to make an appearance before it's a success... So it's just us being crazy, but we have fun! I think it helps fandom morale, and it's how a couple newbies have jumped into the fray, which is great. Anyway, no pressure or anything. I just get to talking sometimes and can go on forever if you let me, especially about anything pilots-related. :)
