Welcome!  So far, for the DPP Color week, we've done:

RED on Monday: What does the color red mean to you? To pilots? (So many wonderful ideas!)
ORANGE on Tuesday: Love or hate it?  (So far, it's been mostly a forum to announce one's love of orange!)
Today is

Yellow (can anyone read that?)

Yellow!  It's a color that generates happiness and optimism.  What makes you inexplicably happy?  What makes pilots inexplicably happy?  Well, speaking of which, let's talk about shiny happy futures!  Early in the series, how did you picture Kara and Lee's shiny happy future to be?  After the series ended, how did you think it should be?  Lastly, what is the first thing to come to mind when you think of YELLOW?

Lee is really happy to see Kara again.

Yellow = Kara in my head. Can't explain why.

I too tend to think of Kara as yellow or gold.

I think it's a brightness thing. Like the sun. It's hurts to stare at too long. And while it's filled with life, it's also full of destructive fire. You need it but it can also kill you.

And there's no way you could live without it. : )

You are too sweet. : ) You should have seen me in my fandom early days-- I'd review a whole episode like that. I'd go all poetic at the drop of a hat. **shakes head**

Yellow for me = the light of the maelstrom :( :( :( :(

Also, on a happier note, I, like Bee, associate it with Kara for the colour of her hair. And the Yellow Tape of Lee!Puupyface-Inducing.

Although I also immediately associate the maelstrom with yellow.

I forget the tape if yellow in AoC/YCGHA. It always surprises me when the underside of the raider is revealed.

Yellow in BSG makes me think of two things: the fake sun on Cloud 9 under which Kara and Lee frak in the bushes, and the sun on Kara's hair in Daybreak when they walk into the horizon together.

*nods* Canon. :P

Of course it's canon! What else would anyone in their right mind think happened at the end Daybreak? That Kara just disappeared into thin air?? *winks*

Daybreak, Part 2 ends when that Raptor with Bill and Laura lifts off....leaving our pilots alone together. TOTES CANON, RDM, WE FIXED IT FOR YOU. Free of charge, too.

Poof, what poof? *looks innocent*

I don't remember where I stole this from. I think I just stumbled across it in Google images one day, but maybe I ganked it from someone around here...anyways it's yellow...and pretty...and Kara. So there ya go. :)

I realize this is a random association, but when I think of yellow the first thing that springs to my mind is a passage from the very beginning of The Education of Henry Adams. I've thought for a long time that this book is rather magical for the first two-thirds of its length before it goes completely insane in the final chapters. But I've always been struck by Henry Adams' account of his very first memories, the moments that he marks as the beginning of his education:

"Of all this that was being done to complicate his education, he knew only the color of yellow. He first found himself sitting on a yellow kitchen floor in strong sunlight. He was three years old when he took this earliest step in education; a lesson of color. The second followed soon; a lesson of taste. On December 3, 1841, he developed scarlet fever. For several days he was as good as dead, reviving only under the careful nursing of his family. When he began to recover strength, about January 1, 1842, his hunger must have been stronger than any other pleasure or pain, for while in after life he retained not the faintest recollection of his illness, he remembered quite clearly his aunt entering the sickroom bearing in her hand a saucer with a baked apple."

God of Light has a yellowish implication :)

So does Aurora, goddess of dawn:

And if Kara was an "angel, blazing with the light of god," as Leoben thought, I bet she was the kind with a burning sword :)
