What deleted scenes do you most feel should have been left in? Which ones do you think better explain Lee and Kara's situation, and which ones do you feel would have changed the way their relationship came across?
I guess what's got me stuck on this is an eensy-weensy difference between UB and UBEX, which I just recently watched. In the aired version, when Kara passes the fight going on, she pauses to watch Lee. There's this long shot just of her face, of her reaction to watching him fight, and THAT'S when she decides to come down and join in. Or at least that's how I saw it - she seemed, at first, to be just passing through, barely paying attention. But once she sees Lee, suddenly she's interested. And it seems so strange that that one shot was taken out of the extended edition, but alas, it's not there. And for me, it totally changes the tone of the scene. Now instead of coming down for the chance to spar with Lee, she just happens to come up to the ring when he's fighting. I don't know, I just felt like with that one look, it set the tone for the episode, let you know from minute one that this was the Starbuck and Apollo show, still, despite all the outward hostility.
There are other scenes that I feel similarly about in other episodes - several of the Chief and Cally come to mind - but I'm curious to know if any of you feel the same way, about this or any of the deleted scenes that appear on the DVD extras, but not in the original, aired episode.
