I'm still trying to figure out why Kara had to die in the first place.... YES. THIS.

And tbh, if they did chose to kill her off, they should've been brave about it and kept her dead and not some vague, random, angel thing with no direction. These are the times that I really admire Joss Whedon for being brave enough to kill main characters and stick with it. If you're too scared to do it, then don't! If you do, see it through!

Know what really irritates me about that? There had been an ongoing thread where Kara was afraid to face death. From AoC to Sacrifice to The Passage and they finally explained it in Maelstrom. She was despite all her stunts afraid to die, and in Daybreak 2, they apparently forget all about that. She had no fear of death, total retcon. So not only could they not explain why, they couldn't even stand by their flimsy reasoning for it.

BTW you're right. If you are killing a character then kill a character. Or if they are coming back somehow, you better plan it out in great detail, the how, what, when and why you are going to do it.
