Hello everyone! I'm lyras, and I will be flying your ship this week. I'm sorry this first post may be going up a little late - I'm in Australia and was trying to negotiate the time zones, but may have got this one a little wrong. I'll try and make sure tomorrow's post goes up earlier.

I've come into Kara/Lee and BSG fandom in general very late, and my experience has been almost entirely LJ (or Dreamwidth)-centred. But I know a lot of you started off elsewhere on the internet (I've heard the SyFy forums mentioned, I think?), and a few weeks ago someone mentioned that a good K/L fic archive that had been down for a while was up again.

So my question is this: what are your go to places for Kara/Lee goodness around the internet? It can be for anything you like: screencaps, fic, discussion, episode recaps... Are there places that you used to frequent but which LJ has now replaced? Are there places that LJ will never be able to replace, for whatever reason?

I feel like I've missed out on an awful lot of fannish goodness, so I'm curious. :)

Thanks for those! I come from book-based fandoms, and seeing all the graphics-based fannishness was a real revelation to me when I started seeking out BSG things.

LOL! I still always make my own caps because I need the EXACT right moment. Sometimes I scan through all four of those sites and still can't find the best hi-res image. So, I stick to my own files and caps. Ends up being quicker. :D

I came from skiffy, and the astonishingly amazing K/L shipper threads there (I think all three threads have over 30,000 pages of posts and over 2,500,000 views). Susan aka Aurora got me over on LJ. *waves at our darling girl in Beantown* Bookmarkf was our Admiral and ran a frakking fantastic & tight ship for our ship. I still like LeeandKara.org and really like fanfiction.net. It's the first place I discovered fanfic, and we always have a soft spot for our first.

Aw, ffn - I think everyone has a soft spot for it! I haven't been there since the early days of my fannish life, which means there's a whole world of Lee/Kara fics waiting for me over there. Hmm.

Yes, I'm still in protest over changing SciFi to SyFy. There are three Kara and Lee shipper threads. If you go onto the third one (aka III) around page 10,000 we were right in the middle of the finale angst on the *poof*.

As for ff.net, when I discovered what fanfic *guh* was, I nearl passed out when I saw over 900 Kara and Lee fics, some of them 10,000's of words long and so many M-rated. While the quality can vary widely there, I can only say that I imagined that this surfeit of *teh smut* must feel like being a coke-head, then receiving your own personal kilo.

I think that ff.net has over 900 Kara and Lee stories of varying length. Some are excellent, many are good, and even the trainwrecks usually have some redeeming features...all IMHO of course.

I'm working on my first fic evah - M-rated vacation fic for Kara & Lee, strictly AU - and I'm going to post it there as well as on LJ.

I'm fairly new to the fandom as well. I mostly use lj for fics, but sometimes ff.net.

For fic, man, that's a tough one. I love the rec room Jo put together on sasa_hq--there's a link to a post with tons of K/L stuff from back in the day, so it's a great resource for that kind of thing. But mostly for fic I just cruise my favorite authors' LJs. I don't know of a really comprehensive list, though I know sci_fi_shipper's new comm puts together all the fic that gets posted each month now...

I found this comm just after I finished watching the show, and loved it instantly! I had a few BSG fans on my flist, but they'd all watched the show when it came out, so weren't really interested in discussing the nitty gritty with me.
