Greetings and salutations, 'shipper nation! This is Amy, known on your internets as
ninjamonkey73, and I'm driving the DPP bus this week. Sit back and enjoy the ride...
I am, of course, talking about the swag of fandom.
On my desk in my home office, I have a Little Frakker Starbuck statue:

On my desk at the office, I have this:

The picture's not great (I didn't want to use the flash on my phone and attract attention), but I would like to point out that, yes, uniformed Captain Lee Adama comes with interchangeable boxing gloved hands. He also came with a gun (not work appropriate), and cornerless law book and clipboard, but his silly plastic hands refused to hold the law book, so I went for the absurdity of boxing gloves and full uniform. Why, yes. He is standing over mini Stonehenge and a tiny Easter Island head. And The Baroness. And Wally the Green Monster. And Yoshi. And various Star Wars ships of Lego and non-Lego makeup. The rest of my desk is a complete shrine to geekhood, too. I like to advertise up front so folks know who they're dealing with. :)
I've seen some discussion of various cons and we've seen some neat crafty things posted. What fan swag have you acquired in your love of Starbuck and Apollo? Post pics, links to product pages, whatever. Get your geek on!
PS: Thanks for a great week!

Oh, and totally unrelated, but my house is kind of a shrine to LOTR (which bugs the crap out of hubby). I have a huge bus shelter ad, double-sided marquee posters and a bunch of models. Hi. My name is Naz and I'm a geek.
PS Amy, &hearts your Happy Bunny sign. *g*

Date: 2010-06-20 07:39 pm (UTC)And PS re Happy Bunny: They ARE all sissies. 8'P
ETA: This is a picture of the topper from our wedding cake:
Han and Leia. Classic Han outfit (I cut off his holster, for obvious reasons), and she's in the dress from the awards ceremony. Some guests never realized. ;)
Let me borrow that top

Date: 2010-06-20 08:38 pm (UTC)My desk has a million lego figures (my favorites being Indiana Jones and a shark attack victim) but no BSG. I totally think your shrine to LOTR is acceptable! BTW, I think you should go on one of the New Zealand LOTR tours - stay at one of the sites and everything! I have every intention of doing it someday!

Date: 2010-06-20 08:42 pm (UTC)You wanna hear something really funny? 99% of the people who see the framed bus shelter ad think that I STOLE it. I mean, come on, really? How the hell can you possibly steal a bus shelter ad???
Yeah, the NZ tour is on my wish-list of solo trips. My number one is what I call "A Reading Tour of England." I've been wanting to do that since college and hopefully, if I can get some more gigs within the next year, it might happen next summer.

Date: 2010-06-20 05:51 pm (UTC)A couple of years ago,
I happened to be visiting
And after "Maelstrom", Elly mentioned that some washcloths I'd recently knitted looked similar to the mandala. I took that as a challenge and made a mandala washcloth (http://www.ravelry.com/projects/chrome/round-or-pinwheel-baby-blanket-2). (That's a Ravelry link, but I can track down my LJ entry about it if it doesn't load for non-Rav folks.) Later that year, I knitted a few extra that another friend gave to Katee herself. ;)

Date: 2010-06-20 10:29 pm (UTC)Yeah, so the first thing I did when I was done with season one was go out and find myself a set of Kara's tags and a set of Lee's tags. I put one of each on a chain together (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ashleyrice/tagmyship.jpg), and I wear them next to my sappy shippery heart. (I'm sorry I can't seem to take a picture worth a damn, but there you are!)
My only other fannish claim is a set of duty tanks (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ashleyrice/igankjacksshit1.jpg) I ganked from a friend who used to work in props and wardrobe. (Sorry Jack, you're going to have to pry them back from my cold dead hands!)

Date: 2010-06-20 10:55 pm (UTC)There was a track suit up on ebay a few weeks back, and I keep kicking myself for not having big higher on it, because I would wear the shit out of that thing.
