DPP Status Report: FEEDBACK WANTED
Jun. 13th, 2010 03:25 pmHi Everyone!
It's been nearly three months of the DPP here at No Takebacks and I thought maybe it was time to do a little check-in on how we're feeling. Everyone's been doing such a fantastic and creative job conducting the train, and we have our schedule filled to the end of September for more great posts. But it can be difficult to come up with new and exciting ideas for each day, and I thought it might be nice to give our future DPP drivers some feedback on what things will keep participation and enjoyment levels high. Some days maybe a pretty pic of kissing pilots is all we need, other days a long analysis about the thousands of reasons why they were eternal, epic soulmates is just what Doc Cottle ordered.
I don't know about y'all but BSG content and Pilots posts are pretty fleeting on my flist these days, so it's nice to know we have this comm to look forward to every day. However, I don't want anyone to feel burned out by it, as it would be great to keep this going a long time. So please respond to the poll, but also more importantly share your thoughts in the comments about how you'd like the DPP to develop!! Thanks!

Date: 2010-06-13 08:07 pm (UTC)I understand that for most people here, lots of the discussions may seem old since you have been following our beloved pilots for such a long time. But for me, everything is still pretty new. I'm not tired of anything and I have been enjoying all the posts. It really amazes me to see so many creative, clever, articulate, fun people around here. I have no idea how you guys have been able to come up with so many topics to discuss. I think I could never do it. I'm really grateful, though, and I sure hope the future drivers keep the torch burning.

Date: 2010-06-14 02:36 pm (UTC)As for the posts, I really enjoy the discussion/speculation stuff (especially the controversial/rant-y topics ;p), but I am ok with anything pilots-related.
Re. The tags. I've been thinking of that for a while now, we should definitely come up with something.

Date: 2010-06-14 09:59 pm (UTC)I think the important thing is that no one feel pressured, that everyone have a good time, and that people get the chance to contribute as much or as little as they want to.
Maybe we could leave the number of postings per week to the individual DPP driver? If they are bursting with fun ideas, then they can post the whole week, but if they are having a full week in real life or if they're having trouble coming up with topics that haven't been done to death, then they could post three times or less, whatever they feel comfortable with. The important thing would be to announce at the beginning of their DPP week what days they planned to post, so that readers would know and not have to check back multiple times or be disappointed not to see a new entry.
And I think it's a nice idea to leave one day a week open for people to post whatever is on their mind at the time instead of having to stick to the daily topic. For those who are still feeling fresh and full of discussion, then that would be a chance to make up for fewer daily posts with more chances to start their own conversational threads if they like.
Those would be my suggestions. Thanks for asking :)

Date: 2010-06-16 01:32 am (UTC)I could go with weekly, but I certainly don't want to restrict anyone from their daily fun.
Tags would be a great tool for those times when I'd like to catch up.
