Even though we are all pilot shippers, everyone naturally gravitates to one of the pair over the other. Sometimes the bias is obvious, and sometimes it is subtle, but we all have one. Thus, when issues between Kara and Lee arise, we're more likely to interpret the actions through the lens of whose 'team' we are on.

Take this infamous scene:

Who is more to blame here? Is it Lee for demanding too much, too fast? Or is it Kara for being incredibly cruel?

What's that you say? They're both at fault? How observant you are! It does take two to tango and almost every pilot confrontation involves some degree of fault on both sides. For today thought, let's just ignore that logical and mature reasoning because the pilots we love certainly do.

So go ahead. Be petty. Pick sides.

Photobucket

Lee wants to know why Kara slept with Baltar.
Kara wants to know why Lee is making it such a big deal.

Photobucket

Kara insists she just wants a good lay to get over her 'dead' guy.
Lee insists her real problem is that she can't get over the living ones.

Photobucket

Kara won't divorce.
Lee won't cheat.

Photobucket

Kara wants to know if Lee will still leave Dee if she leaves Sam.
Lee wants to know how he can be assured that Kara won't back out again.

I didn't understand what you meant when you say that "at least she is DOING something, not just thinking about doing something." If you are referring to professional things, than I can see her taking action, but so does Lee, he doesn't just think about doing his job. Are you talking about her relationship with Lee? If so, what did she do but run away time and again?
(I guess by now you get an idea on whose side I am, right. Hope I haven't been to petty picking his side. I do love Kara, after all. ;p)

I absolute am ALL for picking sides! *woot!* Let the arguments begin. ;>D

To explain, my comment is simply that I find Lee, in many cases, gets so wound up in over-thinking the details, that he misses the chances to actually make something out of the relationship. Kara, granted, is certainly her own worst enemy, and her decisions irk me to no end... But there is a part of me, however, that admires the fact that at least she decides to DO something about her life, rather than waiting in the wings. She chooses.

As a side note, this is COMPLETELY my personality - "lead, follow or get out of the way". So I can relate to her actions. She makes a choice, and sticks with it (even when she probably shouldn't.) And somehow I find that more forgivable than doing nothing.

In this discussion, however, there are specific items I think she was at fault for - Unfinished Business for one - but this is just a general statement about my choice of "side".

I totally respect your perspective, but I still don't buy it (except for the part where she makes a choice and sticks with it even when she shouldn't). My problem is I can't really see some of the things she did (UB for sure, but not only) as REAL choices . I can't get past seeing them as simply runaway routes.
