DPP: First Date Friday

no_takebacksSo, it turns out that The Powers That Be lost an arm-wrestling contest to the Shipper Nation, and Kara and Lee are going on their very first date!
As you can see, they're pretty excited. And they should be! Because YOU get to plan this event! That's right. This is your show! You can put them wherever you like-- they can be in the BSG 'verse, our universe, heck, you can put them in Casablanca and give Lee an awesome hat. THE SKY IS THE LIMIT, FOLKS.
So... Where are they going? How did they get there? Where are they staying? What are they wearing? Did they go to a movie? Did they go the firing range? Did they go to a fancy restaurant? Did they eat cheap fast food in the park? Did they cook for each other? Was there even any time for dinner? ;)

Lee had tried to explain that the words "cool" and "tax lawyer" had probably never been used in the same sentence at any point in human history, but Sam wouldn't hear it. He's contemplating just telling her that he's an actor who plays lawyers when she appears at the table. She's wearing jeans and a t-shirt and he has completely lost the ability to form words. He hopes he's not drooling. Dee had said she was pretty, and while his sister-in-law wasn't wrong, she wasn't right, either: Kara's more than pretty. Kara is a level of beauty that he doesn't think he could describe if he had a lifetime to mull it over.
"Lee Adama, huh? Kara Thrace," she says, sticking her hand out for him to shake. Her grip is firm, but not unpleasantly so, and his mind is already wandering to what might happen later, if he can manage not to screw this up. She looks him over, just once, before she sits down. "Well, you sure don't look like Sammy. Maybe Zak. Guess the family resemblance is all in the arms, huh?" She gives him a wink and sits down, and she has half of a breadstick in her mouth before he can even think of a reply that doesn't make him sound like a caveman.
Lee knows it's love before they even get the menus open, and by the time they get to dessert, it's all he can do not to say it. She kisses him in the cab on the way back to her place, and he finds that he's irrationally angry at the driver for being in the car. Kara laughs like she knows what's he's thinking, and he joins in after a moment, because he's caught up in the vibrant energy of this enchanting woman and he can't not laugh, he can't stop himself from finding an outlet for this sudden burst of joy. They don't stop laughing until they're in her apartment and they have better things to do. Much later, as he's leaving, she tells him that he better be free next Friday, and he can't say yes fast enough.
