Daily Pilots Post: The Favorite Meme

Hello fellow shippers! My name is Cosette and I will be your DPP host for this week. My fabulous predecessors have done a wonderful job over these past weeks, and I hope to keep the fun going! :D

We have already discussed our favorite moments, scenes, fics, vids… And I don’t know about all of you, but personally, when it comes to K/L related stuff, I am inherently conflicted when it comes to choose a favourite anything. Of course I have my preferences –I could probably pick my 5 favorite scenes and my 10 most beloved fics or come up with a list of, say, 15 songs that scream pilots to me; but when I have to cut down the list to one, the task becomes almost impossible. What I intend for today’s post, though, is to make you choose... Hence my question is, if you had to make a choice and pick one, ONLY ONE, which would be...

I know this is a really tough call, there are so many wonderful stories out there, but you probably have a story that holds a special place in your heart for a bunch of different reasons… Maybe it was the first good one you read, maybe it’s the story that made you cry harder or touched you in a way you didn’t expected, or explored a certain aspect of Lee and Kara’s relationship in a way you found utterly satisfying --or who knows, maybe it is the smuttiest smut you’ve ever read :)).

*Needless to say, feel free to answer to those questions you feel like. Also, I’d love to hear yours “why’s” about pretty much all your choices. After all, the reasoning behind an election is as important as the choice in itself (and I am that nosy and chatty, hehe).

Kara/Lee Love

I am virtually brand new to this fandom. To any fandom really. This is actually my first post but I feel like I need to tell the world how much I love these two characters. Their story is so beautiful and heartbreaking.

*Your favorite K/L scene. And why?

If I have to choose one for Apollo/Starbuck. I would say it's the scene in Pegasus when Apollo tells Starbuck to "take some pretty pictures of our cylon ship." and Starbuck's sultry "Copy that." Guh. Hot. Eye-frakking galore. Favorite Kara/Lee moment though would have to be the brig scene in Six of One. "Except me." "Especially you." Geez.. Kill my heart.

*Your favorite Kara/Starbuck moment. And why?

The scene where Kara and Helo are in Kara's old apartment in Valley of Darkness. I love their platonic friendship. Just loving and real. I love how Kara confesses that she fights because she doesn't know how to do anything else.

I like the scene in Sacrifice when Lee thinks outside of the box and attempts to create a diversion. I love how Ellen thinks he's coming on to her. Dude.. yeah, I don't blame her.

Ok.. so I have a few that remind me of Kara/Lee. Exogenesis: Symphony Part 1 Overture by Muse. A lot of the songs remind me more of fics I've read than actual canon, but that's because fic is so much more satisfying.

Sorry.. this post kinda ran away from me. I'm really thinking about making my own lj account. Any thoughts on whether that's a good idea?

Hello there! You asked whether or not you should get an lj...obviously, it's 100% up to you, and everybody here did get an lj so we're probably not the most impartial people in the world. But if you want to be involved in this fandom, livejournal is the #1 place for it. True, there is fanfiction on ff.net but there's a wealth of fic that is only posted to lj, and this is the place for the discussions and the general hanging out and obsessing over pilots.

Also, if you want to know how to post the images in a comment...the html is like this:
< img src = "www.linktowhatever.com" /> (remove the spaces, except for the one between img and src)

I'll echo shah's comments and repeat that we are obviously partial to LJ since we're here. However, I will also say that I think your post was well written with great choices and that you'd be more than welcome in K/L fandom.

Just to (hopefully) make you feel more at home and interested in joining, this fandom is my first too. I have never gotten hooked on a character (Kara) or characters (Kara/Lee) the way I have with pilots. I didn't even get a live journal because of pilots. A friend set up the journal for me and then we parted ways and I was left with the wide world of LJ to explore. Somehow I was lucky enough to find the K/L shipper community after having lurked on other forums. The folks here are amazing and I love the group dynamic. We have a lot of fun and would love for you to be a part of it!

Hi, welcome to this fandom! First of all I want to tell you that your choices are great (especially the K/L scene, that moment is a favorite of mine, too. So hot and so pilots :)).

As for the LJ account… I agree with my friends here. If you are interested in fandom and K/L, this is the best place. Not only because of the fic and the vids and the thinky thoughts, but also because people is so friendly and smart and plain awesome here. I also consider myself a kinda newbie –I started my journal only a year and half ago, even it seems like ages!--, and K/L fandom is my first one too (and probably the last, I tend to obsess over characters and stories, but Kara and Lee took the experience to a whole diferent level. I love them so much).

It’s completely up to you, but I really hope you join us! We have so much fun here! (and don’t hesitate to ask if you have any doubts, I am always glad to help!)
