Long Kara/Lee Recs

I just marathoned the entire series (including the miniseries) in a week and I need fics. I want LONGGGGG Kara/Lee recs, really anything with them, the longer the better. I have broke google trying to find stuff.

Basically, what's the best stuff you would rec to someone new in the fandom, the must reads, even one-shots would be awesome because I just want to read!

A little about the fic you're reccing would be nice, what's it about, if there are any warnings, when its set :D

I love "Aerilon Girls Are Easy" (http://flowrs4ophelia.livejournal.com/113085.html) because I love AUs and because I love AUs that don't use a premise to just magically fix everything. It's a take on what would happen if the cylons never attacked the colonies, showing a somewhat clunky first reunion of Lee and Kara some time after Zak's death, and the tension that follows.

I just read the whole fic b/c of your comments above, Cosette. It made me sigh and feel angsty but it was lovely and honest and so very well done. The last few paragraphs of the epilogue...guh! Perfect K/L. Thanks for the rec, bb!

So glad you read this one, girl, because that story is perfection for me *g* Agree about the last paragraphs, so touching and true, they summarize all that is KaraLee for me (and the hopelful note makes the whole thing even better, doesn't it?) Now I really need to re-read it! lol!

I'm a big fanfiction.net fan. Here's a link that will take you to Kara & Lee fics that are longer than 60,000 works and M-rated. You can adjust any of the parameters, esp rating if there's something else you'd prefer.

I'm a huge fan of In the End by JayBlue00. It's Kara and Lee on present day earth and it's got everything, including a dog and a cat Lolz. Taragel is just finishing up her Academy pilots series which is superb. And if you want the series finale fixed, try Wisteria's The Reality and Immortality of Things. Just bring plenty o' liquor and kleenex!

Well, there are many, many K/L good stories out there. Check out all the recs here at no_takebacks because they are really good, and also caprican_dame's journal. As for authors, everything by wisteria_, mercurial_wit, taragel, leda13, daphnaea. stars_like_dust, elzed, suffolkgirl, brynnmck, svilleficrecs … there are too many.

Also, you should check out whatimages's post of recs (http://whatimages.livejournal.com/101468.html), there’s great fic there. And if you are looking for post-finale fic, this sci_fi_shipper’s recent post (http://sci-fi-shipper.livejournal.com/21507.html) is what you are looking for. You should check out the post on this comm a couple of weeks ago...I believe it's called "Shipper Essentials." We posted links to the fics and writers we believed to be, well, "essential." But anyway, I would wholeheartedly recommend the authors Cosette has already named. Hi,I've only recently fallen in love with BSG and this is my first post here but I really love reading fanfic and I am eager to see what you guys can recommend. There are some stories I absolutely adore, although some of them are still WIPs. Here are my suggestions:

I'd just like to second damao2010's recommendation of igore's "Everything that was, will be again." As far as I know it's that author's only BSG story, and it's only posted on fanfiction.net, so I think a lot of Kara/Lee fans have probably missed it. In a way it's not typical K/L at all in that Kara only appears in small flashes of memory, but she is so central to defining the person Lee has become and the decisions he makes in desperate cirmcumstances. It is a *very* AU story, in which Lee is a frighteningly intense marine rather than a pilot, and has to manage the end of the world with a strike team stranded on Caprica. But I have really enjoyed reading it as it develops, so I just wanted to second that recommendation.

Yes, that fic can also be found at the Fallout Shelter. But the latest update is not there. As far as I know it is only available at fanficnet. Hope it gets updated soon. Lee is very different, more hardened but still so adorable. ;D

I am still catching up when it comes to K/L fanfic. All the suggestions and links provided are great though. I don't have too much to add, but I did want to say hi and welcome to the comm to the new names I see!!

Chosenfire, I think you'll find a lot of us that marathoned portions of bsg to get caught up. I did my marathon catch up in the fall of 2008 before S4.5 started. Mine took a month though; a week is very impressive! Please stick around...this fandom is filled with absolutely lovely people. :)

I ADORE THIS FANDOM, mostly thanks to this place, and I am into my second week. I made my way through the miniseries and first 3 seasons in a week because I was on Spring Break, but classes are back in session so I am going to have to be getting through season 4 when I have the time, and on weekends.

I feel the same way about having waited too long, but then again, bsg came to me at a time in my life when it was most needed. Well, maybe not all of bsg, but I definitely met Kara at an opportune time. What can I say, craziness loves company! ;)
