Congratulations on making this weekend awesome!! There have been so many Kara/Lee posts and even general bsg anniversary posts and I wish I could link to all of your journals in this one because the amount of love we have shown for our ship and for each other is amazing.
I am a happier person today than I was one year ago. I could list many reasons for the change, but having Kara Thrace, Kara/Lee, Lee Adama, and K/L Shippers in my life has been a lovely and remarkably large part of it. Thank you for that. I love you, flist!! <333

Why I love K/L Shippers...Let Me Count the Ways:
--We are brilliant. There is such intelligence, creativity, and beauty in our community.
--We are loyal.
--We are angsty.
--We might get frakked over but we don't sit and cry about it.
--We have a great deal of mutual respect for one another.
--We are welcoming and protective of our flock.
--We kick ass at what we do.
--We love each other no matter what.
--These may sound familiar because they have all been said this week about Lee and Kara. We carry K/L with us always and they live on through our work and our love. That, my dears, is why you are each and every one of you amazing.

So why do you love us? I know it's the weekend and we're all busy, but come on over and post because this community is filled with love and we should be proud to share it!!

I know that we will hang together long after this because these last several years haven't been just about speccing, squeeing, b!tching, loving, hating, dreading, anticipating a series or a "ship." We will hang together because something about this tale and especially the story & journey of these two characters drew us here and drew us together. We’ve researched and discussed theology, mythology and the nature of spirituality; romance, literature, astronomy, physics, mathematics, and music; I have learned SO much. Been challenged so many times and grown deeply and in many unforeseeable ways during my time here.
For some, it was our first foray into fandom, for others it was another turn at the wheel; but whatever our experience, this place became our home. We were (are) nuggets, bunnies, hunnies and whatever the frak chief fans are, but we really found our passion as Shippers. And from that, we became a family.
We argued with each other, supported each other, loved each other and, at times, been so mad at each other we could spit. Over time, some of us took the step and met each other. Those "first meetings" were reunions - like we'd been together many times before but had been separated by time and distance only to come together again with a CLICK and just carried on in person the same connection we had here.
We've been through new loves, break-ups, engagements, weddings, births, separations, divorces, kids growing, kids graduating, kids being kids and driving us insane, husbands/s.o.'s being husbands/s.o's and driving us insane, looking for jobs, starting college, finishing college, looking for houses, finding jobs, losing jobs, starting over with job changes, parents in ill health, families in crisis, friends in crisis, pets in health distress, losing pets, welcoming new ones to the family; we've been touched by love, touch by pain, affected by crime, affected by war, faced with loss. We've gone through a national presidential campaign, every arduous step. We despaired for our world, worried for our families, been scared for our futures. We've celebrated triumphs, commiserated defeats, held hands through trials. As a family, we've been functional, dysfunctional and all functions in between!!
Today isn't the end, it isn't the beginning - it is another day for us. Personally, I've been touched by so many people who have come through and stayed a bit and moseyed on and those people often brought smiles and laughs.
But, it is the old friends that I most deeply treasure and for whom BSG will always bring warm feelings. Squirrely, Book, DD, Bren, Kat, Scrutters, Ariel, DG, Deb, Pi, Monti, Steph, Ruth, Ed, Dave, Sam, Marlee, Zeph, Linda, BI, Karie …. Friends who were very new last summer and now so dear, Fi, Lucky, GA, Holly … Newer friends here, never met, LRC, Fey … absent friends, Tesla, Lola, Z, Liebes … you all have meant so much to me and always always will. If I haven’t mentioned you, know it isn’t because you aren’t important, just that I’m so touched and emotional, I have to stop.
I give you my respect, my gratitude, and my very very best wishes. And … I love you, I love you all.
To the list above I could happily and easily add a dozen more. I love my Shippers, I don't care who knows ... and I always will.
