Daily Pilots Post: A Captain in the Hand is Worth....

The Captain's Hand is one of my favorite episodes of BSG because it's primarily about pilots and it runs the gamut of emotions. We get all different varieties of pilots including:

So what's your take on Captain's Hand? Did Kara and Lee really not talk/see each other for a whole month leading up to this episode? Why not? What do you think was really going on?

What do you think of Lee's summary that he was pissed because she gets away with things and he doesn't?

Do you firmly believe they would have been frakking five minutes after this episode ended because that hug was not a "JUST FRIENDS" kind of hug? Huh, huh, do ya, do ya? ;)

YUP! That's it pretty much exactly.

Lee's next line is blah blah blah about the missing guys. Then she's all "BUT I TRIED BB, I TRIED!"

And he's all "MAYBE YOU NEED A KICK IN THE ASS!"

Oh Lee, always such an ASS man. ;) (I think his defnition of Kick might be a bit different...)


Oh no I just realized I forgot one of my favorite things about the episode: "I KNOW HOW TO HANDLE HER, SIR."

Prove it, Leland. Put your mouth where your money is. Or...er something like that. ;)

Okay, is that when she's like, "Poor Lee, your life is so hard" or did we miss that?

There are so many great lines in this one! I also love how Kara's all "I was just venting...Accurately" to Garner. Hee hee hee.

Mmmmm, I do love when Lee says that! (And yes, damn, I'd love to see him prove it omg.) Though of course he's being a LITTLE bit cocky there. Not that I mind, it's cute that he thinks he can! (Can you imagine if Kara heard him say that, though? Wow. I'd want to sell tickets to that show...) But I mean, while I'd say he and Adama are the only ones who come close, can anyone handle Kara Thrace?! Girlfriend is really in a league of her own, y/y? :)

Hee. Yes. Although to be fair, I think Lee and Bill really can handle her professionally, for the most part. It's when things get personal that they tend to fall to pieces. The problem is that the personal and the professional overlap a LOT for these people.

I think she says that yes and he says "YOU MEAN SINCE I GOT SHOT!?!" And then faces fall and oceans part and angst is epic. Oh bbs. Let us squish you together! It will be okay!

Ooh that's another great line. hee. She says something too that makes them all laugh at him, but I am having brain fart apparently and can't recall it.

I agree. She's untamable. I think the two of them can break through to her when she's in a mood like no one else can, but that line of Lee's is so hysterical because he totally CANNOT handle her. Not personally anyway.

Their particular mix of knowing each other and being so completely clueless AT THE SAME FRAKKING TIME is so astounding really. I mean Lee's line to Tigh in Six Degrees about Kara needing a job to do...that's a pretty right on assessment, and yet he bungles things wiht her so badly at all the personal moments. Oh Leland. OH PILOTS. Sigh. WHY COULDN'T YOU HAVE JUST SNUGGLEPUPPIED IT OUT?
