Google Calendar for Rewatches

Someone requested we set one up for the rewatches so I did. It can be found here:

(International Rewatchers -- please let me know if it's not set for the correct time for you all. I have them occurring at 4 pm EST/2000 ZULU TIME/8 pm GMT...I think!)

Maybe at some point I'll get fancy and update it with episode names but for now...it's just a time-based reminder.

Let me repost this properly!!!

In WINTER, 2000gmt is 3pm EST (except for a brief couple of weeks around clock change time when we don't change our clocks in sync).

In SUMMER, since we move, like you, to daylight saving time, GMT is only four hours ahead of EDT, but the time in London - British Summer Time - is still five hours ahead. Hence the confusion...


So at the mo and until the end of March, the rewatches are at 20 gmt, FIVE hours ahead of you (3pm EST). My guess is that in summer, they will stay five hours ahead, so since everyone moves an hour ahead, the rewatches will in fact be at 2000 bst, which is 1900 gmt.

Confused? Man, I am, and I work in gmt, day in, day out, and STILL sometimes get caught out.

Anyhow. For now, they're at 3pm. Not that I have the time to rewatch!

Since this rewatches are mainly for people that live in Europe my original thought was to keep them at the same time in terms of European time. This is the reason that I proposed to use GMT time.

and taking that into account I assumed that we'll still have them at 20.00. if people want to have them at 19.00 for the summer I have no problems, I just have to know when to start the thread.

20gmt in winter is 8pm in London, 9pm in Paris and most of mainland Europe.

20gmt in summer is 9pm in London, 10pm in Paris etc, so if you want to stick to the same time you should move it to 19g

(little known from people who don't work in the trade - I do international broadcasting - but London is only actually in GMT in winter months. In summer, it's on BST)

No worries! Whatever you decide to do is fine. Looks like you'll switch to 2 pm/1900 whenever DST begins? I'll have to find out when that is and update the calendar. Thanks.

It will still be 3pm in the US since you also move to summer time (or daylight saving, although there might be a week's delay. The gap between US and UK (and rest of Europe) remains the same.
