I thought about that - or holding her breath a bit, even. BUT she would have to get out of the ship again to do it, letting all the air escape after she made it airtight. Which would not be good since she has no way of knowing the capacity of the Raider's O2 tanks. So yeah - I definitely think she had to do it before.
