I have such an issue with the scarfy bits that go over her chest. They really should BOTH go below her breasts. I can't express how much this bothers me.

They certainly could have chosen better, and now thanks to you ladies I am on a fashion hunt to FIX THAT DRESS!! (come back in fifteen minutes for proof that we can do better by Katee than the costume department of BSG).

The back of the dress is absolutely gorgeous though, I love the straps and ties.

Restyling Kara's Colonial Day outfit

So, I looked up some other dresses that would have been just as good on Kara, keeping in mind that they should be some shade of blue (it's her colour, after all), and either bodycon (to show off that rack, the front of the dress left something to be desired) or floaty and romantic (like The Dress itself), and not matronly or twee. Here's what I came up with:

1. Since the original dress was apparently a mullet dress (short in front, long behind), the dress on the far left kind of has the same idea but thankfully no scarfy bits over the chest:



2. For all-round dead sexy (and Herve Leger would do justice to that amazing rack), this could work - and imagine Lee's face if he saw her:



3. For the perfect simple yet sexy dress (because it would let Kara's figure do all the talking and fit her like a glove), you can't do better than Alaïa.

(and check out the back! It's still strappy, which means Lee still gets a nice view of her from behind *grins*)



4. Picked this because I like the colour and the straps, and I'd originally thought Kara's actual dress was a full-length one before seeing it in the props auction catalogue:



5. And this is full-length and pretty and has scarfy bits at the back but with a little tweak to lower that too-high waist, Kara would fill it out so much better:

6. Finally, this is not blue but if it were, I could totally put Kara in this - it's as flowy and romantic and flattering as the original should have been (this is one of the best things anyone's ever worn on a red carpet, imho).
