DPP: Whose Line is it Anyway?
Sep. 7th, 2011 10:55 amKara clearly thinks it's Lee's line.
There are so many quotable/iconic lines from our pilots...but I was wondering what would happen to some of them if you did a little switch?
What if it were a jealous Kara who said to Lee: "You're just a pilot who can't keep his pants on!" or maybe a religious Lee said to Kara: "I can't cheat. It's a sin."?
What about other lines? Which ones are interchangeable (mission/job stuff?) and which ones change everything?
Your mission, soldiers? Pick a line that Kara or Lee says in canon, and write a plausible scenario (as a drabble or just describe it, if you don’t write fic) as to how the other person could be the one to say it. Feel free to change the scenario/circumstances around its delivery entirely!
Example: I once joked that someone should write a smutty fic where Lee's "After You" was totally a bet/dare thing with Kara, where they were trying to see who could make the other one climax first. Hee. FEEL FREE TO START WITH THAT ONE IF YOU LIKE. ;)

I think if we'd seen more of Kara and Kendra in Razor, Kara might have gotten to deliver some lines from Lee's Crossroads monologue. "That's not justice. Not to me. Not to me."
I also think it might have been interesting to see Kara deliver Lee's lines to Bill after she came back from the dead: "What if it were Zak who'd come back to us in that plane? If your son had climbed out of that cockpit, would it really matter if he were a Cylon? If he always had been? When all's said and done, would that change how we really feel about him?"
And I think Kara's words to her phantom!Dad in Someone to Watch Over Me could easily fit into Lee's mouth, about his own Dad or even about himself: "You start a family, the going gets tough, you ditch them? Did you ever stop thinking about yourself long enough to consider what you did to your kid?"
