So I realized just a bit ago during a discussion with [livejournal.com profile] sci_fi_shipper at her journal that sometimes, even with all the interaction we have in our corner of the fandom each day, we take it for granted that everyone's on the same page. But of course we're not. Some have always hung out on LJ, while others called skiffy home first. Some of us have been around since the beginning of the first season or perhaps one of the hiatuses from hell (like yours truly), while others have arrived more recently. And though being new means you probably have not gotten into any fandom drama yet, it also means you may not be aware of some of the community's history and highlights.

Which brings me to today's topic: let's make this post a newbie Mecca, shall we? I'd love to see comments from as many people out there as possible--give us the goods! Share pics, gifs, vids, fics, or meta posts you think people NEED to have seen/read to consider themselves K/L fans, even if you think everyone already knows about them--because you just never know! Link to people and posts that have helped make pilot-shipping what it is today, fic rec resources, etc. Dispense advice and/or warnings about The Pit, attending cons, etc. Whatever you think could be helpful to a newbie (or even to a veteran shipper!) is welcome.

All I ask is that we try to keep things positive and respectful. Let's focus on all the great things it has meant and continues to mean to be a Kara/Lee shipper. :) All right, now let's have some fun with this!

Hey, all! Bee, our fearless rewatch leader, asked that I make a little announcement about the rewatch, since, as you can tell, we've not exactly got a new schedule ironed out and she's had a truly crazy week at work.

So, first things first. A couple of us thought it might be a good idea to take a brief rewatch hiatus, at least for the rest of this week. Just to give us more time to decide on a schedule that will work best for the group as a whole and to make sure people have enough notice about when the new day(s) will be. Sound okay to you all?

Second, this means we need to, uh, actually get back to talking about the schedule! I think Bee had been hoping for a bigger turnout for Friday's rewatch, which led us to reevaluate having it that night. I had pitched an idea last week that we go by a revolving schedule--that the rewatch be held on a Saturday night one week, a Sunday the next, then Monday, Tuesday, and on like that. I was thinking that--if we could plan it out far enough in advance that it wouldn't be confusing to people and/or made sure to post reminders about which day it was every week--this might enable more people to participate overall. So that someone who always has to miss a Tuesday-night rewatch because of work, for example, would have a chance to attend one at least once in a while. Just an idea!

Let's see what the majority rules:

[Poll #1543140]

And I think this officially means I post here more often than I do on my own LJ. Heh. Not that that's hard!
