This is actually a pretty simple question…

Before the horrible awful revelation that is The Table Scene, what did you think had happened between Lee and Kara before the mini?

You can tell everyone, write a litte story or post a link to the fic that fits your personal canon best. Extra points if you explain the Major too. ;)

I thought the brig scene was better inspiration than the Table.PP

Well I recently did my This Seems Familiar (http://leeadamamusings.livejournal.com/13971.html#cutid1) piece on our 5 + 1 challenge here. That's primarily Zak and Kara exploits with Lee as rescuer and not a little tongue in cheek. I like to base my fanon closely on canon. I've always maintained that Lee and Kara weren't assessed through an academy, but rather an ROTC type program, so the Daybreak meeting works for me there. I also separate flight training from officer assession while most academy fic writers write the two as simultaneous.

Anyway, I haven't really ever done anything pre-mini that relies on academy attendance except perhaps for my survival exercise piece. That could easily have occurred following assession training although it doesn't work with meeting canon. Still I'd love to see the Lee and Kara enjoying each others company without Zak, and in harmony with their decision to not betray his brother. The better platonic friends they became the more poignant their estrangement over blame for Zak's death becomes. It makes what happens in this scene all the more gut wrenching I think. Lee tries to return to their easy camaraderie, and she tries to follow, but the guilt overwhelms their efforts.
