I would also like to introduce my co-host for the Pigeon. I don’t know how I missed him during taragel recent things that will always be linked to BSG post because I cannot take pigeons seriously anymore. As it turns out, as the mother of small children, I end smirking a lot at the Pigeon stories of Mo Willems because he’s kind of a super annoying pigeon who wants to drive a bus and eat hotdogs and such.

re: the cat and the chocolate

Try white chocolate or milk chocolate. Don't ever let her have semi-sweet (usually what choc chips are made of), dark choc, or bakers' choc.

Also chocolate baked goods (like a finger pinch of chocolate cake) may appease her...and the amount of chocolate ingested is diluted a bit by the other cake ingredients.

In small amounts, milk chocolate or white chocolate is likely just to cause diarrhea, hyperactivity, and/or GI upset from the fat content.

(We worry most about the theobromine and caffeine for true (cardiac, neuro) toxicities...the theobromine is MUCH higher in the darker chocolates. Next we worry about the fat content since that can cause mild to severe GI issues (mild stomach upset to evil pancreatitis).

My cats say to tell her there are so many other things to nibble...from the expected (meats, cheese) to the odd (watermelon, bread)...to choose something new and avoid the chocolate. ;)
