taragel started the Daily Pilots Post on March 1st, meaning we've gotten a dose of piloty goodness every day for the last ten months. That's fantastic, y/y? pilots_presents, which definitely got me in the spirit--and helped me keep it through all the stresses of the season. And then there's all the fabulous fic, vids, art, picspams, meta, discussions, rewatches, rewatch afterparties, games, and more that we saw get posted/participated in this year. We even had a fandom Oscars! In summary: Shipper Nation had an amazing year.
My question for you all, then, is what are some of your 2010 fandom hightlights? They can include anything, from the stories and posts you loved best to memorable experiences at cons and everything in between. Let us know what made your year!

Date: 2011-01-03 04:05 pm (UTC)I have singular moments that have thrilled me, particularly going to Dragon*Con and putting names to faces and experiencing the amazing thrill of being in a world of people who are just as crazy about fandoms of all shape and form as I am. Oddly, or maybe not so much, my favorite part was getting to wear my shipper pins and paraphernalia every day showing my shipper pride. LOVED IT!

Most of all, I guess, I love that Shippers are hanging on tight to the pilots love. Even since I joined only a year ago, I've seen the participation drop all around the fandom. Shippers? No fucking way. WE LOVE PILOTS!

Date: 2011-01-03 05:34 pm (UTC)I've only been here a little over a month and with my past experiences in other fandoms I KNOW it dies a slow cold death especially after a few years time with the books/movies/shows being complete.
So my delight in finding these awesomely active shipper comms was a complete surprise, but highly rewarding. PILOTS shippers are amazing! True story. :)

Dragon*Con!!!!! Always such a blast. It was so great to meet you this year, and I can't wait to hang out again!
I know I already said this, but yeah, it's just so amazing to me that participation is still going as strong as it is in these here parts. And so much of that is due to newer people, like you, and the enthusiasm you bring to the ship. THANK YOU for that!
