I find the commander's feeling of betrayal...Starbuck let him down...he trusted her and she's gone....sort of the same way she feels about him.....it creates an interesting dynamic because it makes him go to Sharon, his second favorite non-child.

Yeah, things really went pear-shaped whenever Starbuck and the Adamas were at odds. Even the mutiny I think can in large part be attributed to all the doubt people could sense about his feelings regarding Starbuck's return...
