DPP - Game on!
Nov. 26th, 2010 03:12 pmThe posting rules are simple.
Some people won't be around until later tonight so try to remember that! Our Starbuck might be modded a bit by Tara until Ray gets home so that we can keep pilots in motion. To get the game going I'm going to post as a deckhand (so excuse the poor writing skills please)
We start our game at the very end of UB. Starbuck and Apollo are laying bloodied and battered on the mat of the boxing ring. Slowly the crowd starts to thin out and all the crew can talk about is Maj. Adama and Capt. Thrace. The whispers and theories about what happened so long ago on New Caprica to cause their rift echo off the bulkheads. Finally Col. Tigh steps out of the ring and orders everyone but the knuckledraggers off the deck and for them to get it back to combat ready status. It’s 15 minutes later, the bleachers are stacked, tables are stowed and the only thing left to dismantle is the ring but Starbuck and Apollo are still laying in it. The deck gang is trying to decide who is going to be the one to say something to them….
ETA: Rooms are added, if there is any place you specifically want to work from let me know. I'm adding an OOC comment at the end so put all your comments, needs or questions there....i figure its best to have it all in one place.
EDIT 11:30PM EST: Hey everyone! Thanks so much for joining in, we've started it a bit and kind of established where everyone is. We've been discussing keeping this going for a few days and posting jumps ahead and what not in the coming days. Please continue to add anything into this thread, make your character interact in the established places or if you want to start a new "room" just let me know. Tomorrow there will be a post about continuing the story. Thanks again for all your patience while we figure it out, I hope you enjoy playing and reading!
- You can only post reactions and dialog for your chraracter
- Give others a chance to respond (If it takes too long, I'll try and jump in and move things along w/out trying to do too much altering to the character)

ON THE HANGER DECK - AFTER THE DANCE
Date: 2010-11-26 08:13 pm (UTC)Specialist O'Malley thought of getting Helo but he was looking pretty cozy with Athena as they walked off the deck. An idea came to her and she started talking louder than necessary knowing the CAG and Capt. Thrace would hear her "The XO will be heading back down here in in 30 minutes, if we don't have this ring dismantled he's going to have all our asses. CAP will be landing in a hour"
The crew kept busy and watched the pilots as they seemed to realize they were still in the ring....
SICK BAY - AFTER THE DANCE
Date: 2010-11-26 08:18 pm (UTC)Re: ON THE HANGER DECK - AFTER THE DANCE
Date: 2010-11-26 08:24 pm (UTC)There they were, Kara and Lee, just lying there where they had fallen earlier. He knew both of their habits well enough to know someone had to get them up. There might even be a concusion of two.
He sighed loudly, kissing his wife's forehead and walking back over to the ring. Pushing the ropes up, he heaved himself onto the mat, his now cooled muscles protesting slightly at the movement.
He stood over them, hand on his hips, trying to figure out if he wanted to help them up and into a shower or just roll them off the mat.
"Having a cosy nap, kids?" he asked, doing his best to sound simply curious.
OOC POST - Questions, Comments, Requests
Date: 2010-11-26 08:32 pm (UTC)Re: ON THE HANGER DECK - AFTER THE DANCE
Date: 2010-11-26 08:45 pm (UTC)He didn't want to move. Didn't want to break the connection yet.
But Karl was waiting. And the deckhands were talking about CAP. And he was the CAG, after all.
Lee sighed and gently moved her arm back down to the ring, squeezing her wrist slightly before he sat up. Afraid to look around, he focused on Helo's face, hoping the man would catch his meaning and said, "Is everyone gone?"
Re: ON THE HANGER DECK - AFTER THE DANCE
Date: 2010-11-26 10:25 pm (UTC)Helo smirked down at the CAG, noting how the other man's face was still bleeding.
"And I think it'd be a good idea to that looked at," Helo went on, gesturing at Lee's face before extending a hand to help him up.
Mess Hall
Date: 2010-11-26 10:38 pm (UTC)Apollo and Starbuck had apparently finally made up. One member of his crew swore he heard them say "missed you" to each other, shortly before they crumpled to the mat. This all after an extended time "tied up" together.
As chief of the deck he had found himself at more then one of Apollo and Starbucks "discussions" on the hangar deck since they left New Caprica. No one was sure why they were so pissed at each other. Though chief thought he knew the reason why.
Their were lots of rumors about what started the rift. Some said Apollo was angry Starbuck mustered out. Some that Kara just hates Dee, that Dee married Lee. Others that Lee hates Sam. Some even said they had a lovers quarrel and in anger married other people. He discounted these tales, thinking it was too frakked up to be true.
Chief over the years saw first hand alot of moments between Apollo and Starbuck. He knew probably better then most that there was more going on there then just CAG and pilot. For a long time Chief thought it was just the fact that were almost family, but he suspected more and what he heard about what happened at the dance only seems to confirm his suspicions.
Chief finishes his meal and heads back to the deck. Chief knows he is going to have to crack down on his people to keep them focused on their jobs. The relationships of pilots, who was hooking up with who, replaced the old vid casts for entertainment. A potential affair between Apollo and Starbuck will too hard for them to ignore and not speculate and place bets on.
Re: ON THE HANGER DECK - AFTER THE DANCE
Date: 2010-11-26 10:50 pm (UTC)He looked down at Kara, still lying at their feet, torn. He didn't want to leave her here. She looked even worse than he did, but they had so much to talk about. They couldn't do that in sickbay.
Besides, Dee would no doubt be waiting in their quarters. Gods. How long did she watch for? What was he supposed to tell her? That he'd forgotten all about her, forgotten his godsdamned wife halfway through their dance. Hell, he'd nearly forgot himself entirely and kissed Kara right there in the ring, with everyone watching. He griamced and rubbed a shaky hand through his sweat-soaked hair.
He had to handle this. No more lying to himself. No more pretending. He looked at Helo's expectant face. "I'll be alright. Just..." he paused, his glance skipping down to Kara one more time, as if it might be the last time and someone would come along and snatch her away. "Just take care of her, alright?" he asked Helo softly, then mustering his will, he climbed out of the ring and headed off the deck.
Re: ON THE HANGER DECK - AFTER THE DANCE
Date: 2010-11-26 11:01 pm (UTC)He turned back to look at the woman still lying at his feet. He knelt down closer to her head and put his hand on her shoulder.
"Hey, Buck. Time to go," he told her gently.

Date: 2010-11-26 11:17 pm (UTC)Re: GALACTICA HEAD / SHOWERS
Date: 2010-11-26 11:28 pm (UTC)She noticed Hot Dog gingerly poking at an impressive shiner. "What happened, Costanza? Rough time getting out of bed this morning?"
Re: GALACTICA HEAD / SHOWERS
Date: 2010-11-26 11:34 pm (UTC)Deciding he needed more time, he took a fast turn, making a split-second decision, and pushed through the hatch into the head. It was busy, full of people getting cleaned up after the dance and ready for CAP and their shifts, even more were just standing around chatting and laughing animatedly. He stepped in and over towards the showers and around him the room abruptly fell silent.
Lee tensed, but didn't stop walking. He snagged a towel and pilfered a bar of soap out of a free locker, and started stripping down. He felt dozens of pairs of eyes on him and flushed uncomfortably. Frak, what were they expecting? A striptease?
Re: GALACTICA HEAD / SHOWERS
Date: 2010-11-26 11:37 pm (UTC)He really hadn't been thinking when he'd challenged Starbuck to the dance. He'd figured he'd last a round longer than he had. Damn, he didn't realize just how dirty she fought.
"Just be glad you weren't there," he said, trying to scrounge up some bravado. "You didn't have to witness how I mopped the floor with Starbuck. She still hasn't gotten up from the mat."
Re: ON THE HANGER DECK - AFTER THE DANCE
Date: 2010-11-26 11:42 pm (UTC)Athena backs off into the shadows, she doesn't want to be seen watching the aftermath of a catastrophe in their lives. She watches him slink off, back to his wife. She frowns. They should never have gotten married. she looks back at the ring and watches as Helo begins rousing Kara. She knows that it's best for her to wait this out. To not be here.
Athena too walks out of the door. The heat of the joy of Helo's victory having left her and the cold of watching Kara and Lee really go at each other leaves her cold as she walks down Galactica's halls. She can't imagine the idea that so much has gone on in their past that it leads two sane - partially sane in Kara's case - people to the point of knocking each other into unconsciousness. Especially two people that were in love.
Was it a human thing? Was it just a love thing? Did love make you do the wacky? Returning to her quarters she sat on the bed and thanks whoever was watching that Her and Helo were a lot simpler than that of Kara and Lee - at least behind closed doors. Her thankfulness however, did not stop her thoughts floating back to the two friends on the hanger deck.
Re: GALACTICA HEAD / SHOWERS
Date: 2010-11-26 11:44 pm (UTC)He quickly grabbed his kit and slipped into the first available stall and turning on the water.

Date: 2010-11-27 12:06 am (UTC)Re: GALACTICA HEAD / SHOWERS
Date: 2010-11-27 12:08 am (UTC)"From what I hear Starbuck and Apollo tangled. It was only a matter of time right? They've barely said three words since we left New Cap. I always wondered if what everyone said about them was true. Although to beat on each other in front of Sam and Dee. Awkward. Dammit, I always miss the good stuff"
Turning around she almost bumps right into Apollo as he's walking to the showers. She turns bright red and nods quickly at him "Major" leans over to re-tie her boots.
Re: ON THE HANGER DECK - AFTER THE DANCE
Date: 2010-11-27 12:18 am (UTC)Frak.
When she had woken up this morning everything had been so easy. No. Easy was not the right word. Simple. Clean. Mostly, anyways. Cleaner than they were now. Her eyes darted in the direction in which Lee had left before looking back at Karl. "Let's get out of here."
Re: ON THE HANGER DECK - AFTER THE DANCE
Date: 2010-11-27 12:28 am (UTC)He glanced around looking for Sharon, but she had disappeared. He'd worry about that later.
"No offence, Buck, but you smell," he said, taking a whiff of her hair and making an exaggerated face. "Ugh, worse than usual."
Re: ON THE HANGER DECK - AFTER THE DANCE
Date: 2010-11-27 12:38 am (UTC)She managed to get down from the ring on her own, but once she was down on the deck, she found herself needing to hang on to the ropes to steady herself once again. A hot shower would feel good about now, she decided.
Re: ON THE HANGER DECK - AFTER THE DANCE
Date: 2010-11-27 12:50 am (UTC)"I guess I could use a trip to the head, too," he conceded her earlier comment as he hoped down from the mat and nodded to the specialist that gave him a grateful look.
Kara was still clinging to the ropes, and he mentally thought about just how much this was going to hurt.
He grabbed Kara's wrist off the ropes and before she could figure out what he was doing, threw her over his shoulder and walked off the hanger deck.
Re: GALACTICA HEAD / SHOWERS
Date: 2010-11-27 12:50 am (UTC)The peace and quiet lasted exactly two minutes and thirty seconds when a loud voice cut into his solitude.
Re: ON THE HANGER DECK - AFTER THE DANCE
Date: 2010-11-27 12:56 am (UTC)Dead. Deader than dead. Deader than a cylon with no resurrection ship around. That was exactly how dead Karl Agathon was for this little stunt.
"Godsdamnit, put me down!" She pounded her hands against his back. Not hard--not like she had that much strength left in her anyways--but enough to make her point. After a few good smacks, realizing he wasn't about to let her go, and she had a choice between give in and get dropped on her head, she decided to go for the option that would not result in a trip to sickbay.
Then again, if she'd just leaned on him in the first place, she wouldn't even be in this position.
