DPP: Christmas Letters from the Adamas
Nov. 6th, 2010 08:53 amGreetings and salutations, 'shipper nation! This is Amy, known on your internets as
ninjamonkey73, and I'm driving the DPP bus this week. Sit back and enjoy the ride...
If the stores can think it's Christmas time, I want in on that!
I want a cracktacular day of Christmas letters! Writers and people-who-haven't-written-yet, pull your chair up close to the keyboard and knock out a cheesy Christmas letter. I think, realistically, that Lee would be the one writing these, but you can do sarcasm from Kara's POV if that's your thing. This week, we've talked about alternate universes, and we've talked about the stuff that drives us nuts. Let's put them together and come up with not only a happy ending, but one where things are soooo good, they send out Christmas letters to the Tyrols and Agathons and elder Adamas.

The Bow
Date: 2010-11-07 01:09 am (UTC)“But everyone is dressed.” Lee grinned. He and the twins were also wearing black turtle necks and blue jeans. There had been shopping, males only shopping. Kara cocked an eyebrow at her boys and chewed her lip. She had to admit that Theodore and Frederick looked pretty cute. Three year olds in little jeans just did something to her. Kara was pretty sure it was proof that motherhood changed you. Lee’s ass made her want to figure out what positions her body could still manage after the boys had gone to bed, which proved that it didn’t change everything.
“How long have you been planning this? Just waiting until I accidentally put on this combination of clothes?”
Lee shrugged. “It was pretty easy actually,” his tone was nonchalant, but he was already wincing. “You only fit into so many things.”
Fire raged in Kara’s hazel eyes, and she lunged at her husband. Since the boys were hiding behind his legs she didn’t actually hit him only narrowed her eyes, as he grinned victoriously. His blue eyes sparkling like the strand of blue lights he’d scrounged up to use as a back ground.
“Fine.” She stomped over to the lights and stood rigid and arms crossed atop her belly.
“Kara, is that the holiday spirit?” Lee teased. The boys laughed. Three year olds.
“It’s as holiday spirit as your gettin’, Leland Adama.” Her voice was tight, but the smile was cracking.
With a quick eye roll, Lee spun away from her. He adjusted the camera perched on a tripod at the middle of the room. Finally he nodded and came back around to Kara, squatting down with Theodore and Frederick fixing their hair as best she could as they tried their best to keep out of her reach. They knew that mom was slow now days. Lee watched for a moment, picking something up from the table behind him while his family was distracted.
“Just one last thing,” he said as Kara stood up. Groaning dramatically the whole way.
“What?” Kara was facing away from him. Until Lee reached around her belly with a thick piece of blue and green plaid ribbon. “What are you doing to me, Apollo?”
“'Pollo!” the boys giggled at their feet.
“If you think you’re taking pictures of me to distribute tied up like a Solstice package…” She let the threat run out as she whipped around. Coming nose to nose with her husband and his wicked, wicked grin, Kara Thrace was momentarily lost in his eyes and the rhythm of his breath on her lips. It was unfair really because he was tying that stupid ribbon around her stomach while she was too distracted to do a thing about it.
“My dad said he and Laura would take the boys for us this evening,” he whispered, low and sultry. It was amazing the things that could turn a girl on once she had kids. Kara backed obediently towards the lights. Lee lifted Theodore in one arm and Frederick in the other murmuring a reminder to smile and slide beside her.
As the flash burst on and off, Lee and the boys shouted “Merry Solstice!” and beamed. Kara almost smiled, wich was close enough because the giant blue and green bow accenting their unborn child sat balanced on the peak of her belly for all to see.

Date: 2010-11-07 02:11 am (UTC)The boys mimicking with "Pollo!" was an adorable touch. Lee is in for it once A/R pick up the kiddos!! A bow?!?! On the almighty Starbuck?? He is sooo gonna pay...and I'd be much obliged if someone wanted to write all about it! :D
(Isn't that such a typical greedy shipper of me? "Hai, thx for the fantastic comment!fic. Moar, plz." Heh.)
